Hallowhedon is a 3-day unofficial convention to celebrate the Halloween weekend in style, and the various hit television series created by Joss Whedon. This event will feature guests from Joss Whedon's series "Buffy the Vampire Slayer", "Angel", "Firefly" (and the movie continuation "Serenity") as well as his latest venture "Dollhouse".

This event will be held from Friday 30th October - Sunday 1st of November 2009 at The Thistle Hotel, Heathrow.

Current Guests include: Nicholas Brendon 'Xander' in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer", James Marsters 'Spike' in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Angel", further guests to be announced soon!

I wanted to let this community know that I will be teaching an online course at the Massachusetts College of Art on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel. (Please pardon the self-promotion and any cross-posting, but I thought it was an appropriate announcement for this community.) I’d like to encourage interested members to sign up for some serious fun.

My background: I’ve taught several seminars on the Buffyverse at the Massachusetts College of Art and Emerson College over the past three years. I’ve published two articles on the series at Slayage (which you can find at http://slayageonline.com/ in issues 19 and 22.) I’ve presented articles at a several conferences, including the latest biannual one on the Whedonverses, Charming and Crafty at Harvard University, and for the Popular Culture and American Culture Associations.

What you can expect: The course will give students the rare opportunity study the evolution of a single, long-running series in its entirety. This course will offer you the depth of understanding granted by courses that study the work of a single director. Students will practice a variety of critical approaches on a single subject: genre and auteur theory, cultural studies, and close reading of individual episodes. The goal will be a more complete understanding of the series and its meanings. (Translation: it’s not fanboy, but I do respect the artistry and politics of the series.)

The price of admission: It’s $710. The course materials would be buying a few books, and either renting or purchasing seasons of the series. The start date would be January 29th and it would end on May 7th. You’d get an enriching experience and 3 academic credits.

I am so psyched about the season 8 Buffy comics that are going to start coming out in March. I'm devouring every spoiler I get and getting more giddy with anticipation every day. I'm also looking madly for discussions about what's to come in the Buffyverse. After participating in the Harry Potter fandom, Buffy fans seem so docile when it comes to the future of their favourite 'verse. Where are the theories? The predictions? The wild speculations?  I have a few theories of my own and am really interested in what other people have to say. So if anybody feels like talking about Buffy, please comment here!

I have a few theories about what will happen in season eight, about the villains they will encounter, themes that will be dealt with, and Bander shippiness. 

There is also a theory that my friend,

Hi I'm new to LJ and this community...I love BtVs....since day one I was hooked. I secretly cried at the series finale on the WB, at the end of Buffys 5th season, because I completely missed the bulletin that she wasn't actually dead and they were moving stations. yeah I felt dumb...but none of my socialites know so it's all good. well thats all bye!

Hi all!

I've been a Buffy fan since the very first episode and watched it religiously all through the 7 seasons. Everybody knew never to call me during Buffy or they just got hung up on!!

I'm watching the show from the beginning again and posting some commentary on stuff I find interesting and annoying on my LJ, episode by episode as I get a chance to watch and write. I've only got the first three seasons on DVD right now, but I might have to buy the rest soon if I go all the way through.

I'm only on Season 1, episode 3, and it's just random babbling, but I'm hoping to keep it up and wouldn't mind some discussion. I've tagged all the entries with "Buffy commentary" so you can catch up easily if you'd like to see the first two entries as well.

I'm glad to join this community and hope to get to know some of you better and definitely explore my love of Buffy! :-)

So my friend need a ride to go fix this guys computer in torrance, ca so I gave him a ride on the way back I got lost and then ran in to what look like the sunnydale city hall. then I looked again just staring at it and my friend said what the hell are you looking at? I said holy shit, its sunnydale city hall. haha I wish I had a took a picture of it. next week I am going to go back and look for it. anyone know where they film some of the other location? Of course I know where they film the school. but any others?
