My husband and I have been traveling around La. taking pics and enjoying the beauty of our state. I've been posting them in my personal journal and I noticed that there wasn't any communities for Louisiana pictures. We created a community to share photos of what makes our state great and unique. Seriously though, do we want to give up control of our children to an American KGB? While I'm not a fan of terrorism, what exactly *are* we fighting for? What are the "victory" conditions? I can't say that the Democrats are doing any better than the Republicans on this matter. Why is everyone so "terrified" that we should just give our rights up?

I pose the question, "Is spying, torturing, and killing God's solution?"

Is anyone besides me disturbed that our government may pass an unconstitutional bill against video games? It's bad enough that a nutjob from Miami, Jack Thompson, is spearheading this effort by telling the House things like, "All of the 'Grand Theft Auto' games are designed to be played on the PlayStation 2 with the 'dual shock' controller. This hand-held device gives you a pleasurable buzz back into your hands with each kill. This is operant conditioning, behavior modification right out of B.F. Skinner's laboratory", and that 2 + 2 = 5. Never mind that Louisiana has taken a part in creating two of the most renowned video game developers, Will Wright and John Carmack who succinctly left our state. One would think that we should be doing things to encourage the industry to operate here, not condemn it because of some distorted view of a Miami lawyer. What about video games depicting football? I mean, clearly football is violent. It's definitely violence against other people. Should we now have to confiscate all football video games to be examined by a judge in case they don't meet standards or present some "political" value? The bill passed unopposed in the house. Are we really going to waste our tax dollars and court time doing our best to try and violate the First Amendment?

how do you deal with a person who gets in your personal space?

I just want to know about everyones opinions about the brutal hearings to appoint the new Supreme Court justice. Listening to right wing talk shows and witnessing these hearings on C-Span, I am appalled by these proceedings. I cannot believe that the democrats have gone so low. Making Alito's wife CRY? Using Guilt by association tactics, being associated with Princeton makes him bad because of an article he MAY OR MAY NOT have read? Please Note: Guilt by association was used to spread Communism and Nazism. Are democrats like Kennedy, Schumer and Finestein really reliable? They are morally wrong for what turmoil they are putting Alito through. Kennedy even read from a SCRIPT, he is a puppet. Ruth Bater Ginsberg didn't have to go through this crap in 1993, why does Alito have to now?

Could it be that the communist, whoops, that was a slip, I mean the democratic party, is asking most of the questions this time? Those who have been crying the loudest are hurting their party much worse than they are helping it. I predict a drastic change in the democratic party, a split or a formal condemnation of these people's actions. What do you think?

I've been thinking about the gay marriage issue, and I'm having a hard time pinpointing the reasoning for each side of the debate. Aside from the cliches such as "sanctity of marriage" for the pro and "discrimination against gays" for the con, what else is there? Emotion removed, what is the logical reasoning behind each side of the gay marriage argument?

What do you think of LSU speaking out about the purple and gold confederate battle flag?  Should it be banned even that would be a 1st amendment violation?  Should showing it be discouraged, or is it just another symbol of LSU?  Is talking enough or does direct action need to be taken?  Is it an issue that really needs to be addressed or is it incredibly trivial and pointless?  Should the chancellor, SG, and other parties publicize their stance?  What's your opinion of it; let me know what you think...
