All posts

1. Original series Battlestar Galactica only, but within that, all ratings and all pairings—except RPS—are welcome. Gen, het, slash or whatever else makes your eyes light up.

2. And talking of headers, this is what every post should have:

Rating: (use an LJ cut for Adult material and flag the post with an adult content/concepts rating)
Pairings or characters involved:
This fic contains: add appropriate warnings here. See the section on warnings below, which is complete with nifty codes for you to use

3. Use an LJ cut if you've warned for anything, or if the content isn't work safe, or just to save our friends pages if your post is longer than a few hundred words.

4. Ask me before any OT posts, please.

Warnings
5. We'll assume that a fic that doesn't carry warnings doesn't need one - that is, is pure as the driven snow. But:

• (i) you MUST warn appropriately in the headers for known triggers such as rape, any other non-con, sexual violence, dub-con, incest, self-harm.


• (ii) please be considerate and warn for other things that may not be actual triggers of harm, but will allow people to live their lives unsquicked if they don't share your unnatural practices tastes. MPreg makes me want to scoff and BDSM makes me wanna squirm, and while neither will cause me mental harm, telling me in advance that Starbuck's several months gone with Apollo's child after being tied up and disciplined with a rubber dildo at least allows me make informed reading choices. Be sensible about this.


• iii) Please also use your noggin if someone emails you and says they found x in your story triggery or squicky, and amend your header. We're a community. The default setting is consideration for our sibs here.

6. If you don't want to spoil your fic with warnings, then put them under an LJ cut or use the following "black out" code. Anyone seeing it has the option to highlight it to read your warning, but it won't otherwise be visible. Here's the wording and code:

This fic contains: [span style="background-color: rgb(0, 0, 0); color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"] rape, non-con, dub-con, incest, self-harm [/span]
replacing [ with < and ] with >, of course, and adding or deleting relevant triggers and squicks.

You have to add this line in HTML mode, not Rich Text, btw. Email me if this is confusing you. I'll probably confuse you even more in the answer, but I'll try not to. Honest.


Tagging posts
7. Please do! I can trail around after people tagging untagged posts, but I'd rather you did it yourselves. I'm lazy that way.

• (i) tag with your author or artist tag.


• (ii) use the relevant challenge tag or tags.


• (iii) if your post isn't in answer to a challenge, please


• tag as 'non-challenge'


• add something that will help us find your post on a search. If there's an existing tag that describes your post, then use that. Otherwise come up with something creative – so if you have a post that's about Cassie and Athena getting hot and bothered using a rubber duck and a ham sandwich, then… well, you can see where I'm going there. Tag as 'rubber duck' and 'ham sandwich.' And possibly as femmeslash. There isn't anywhere near enough femmeslash in the fandom, and by that I mean any at all

Monthly Challenges

8. Each challenge will be set at around the 7th and close at midnight on the last day of the month. You can post your contribution at any time in between.

9. Please don't cross-post your contribution to other comms or your LJ while the challenge is on, but do what you like with your entry once the challenge is over. Pointing to this comm from your LJ is cool, though, as it may bring your friends to us to read and join in.
