Let's see here. I've taken 7.5 years of French. This morning, I took a placement test so my French prof can help pic which French class for me to be in. I failed. Again. You'd think that you can't fail on a placement, but you can. :-/ I've done it twice!!! Haha.. She's totally going to suggest the lowest level for me, but whatev. It's likely that it won't transfer though. I'm lucky that she's even going to see me. I should've done this a long time ago! So I'm going in in half an hour to get her to sign this piece of paper so then my study abroad forms will be done!!!! And I will get out of my housing contract for next semester which UNH Housing has not been on top of.
I'm not taking my statistics final (oooh well). So I only really need to study for ACCOUNTING!!! mmm yes. And my IA presentation went O.K. I think, I'm really not sure because she's impossible to look and determine what she is thinking. She could hate it and smile. Anywho, my group was wicked fun. I ended up having a dead guy on my presentation. He was chillin'. I probably wouldn't have put him in there if it wasn't for peer pressure. There were some grosser pictures thou than the one we used. I guess that's good.
So I dropped business as my major. I had to add a major (to study abroad) so I chose Studio Arts. Yay art. That was Monday. Then Wednesday I e-mailed my study abroad program and asked if I could change my study abroad to Marchutz School of Art which is still in Aix-en-Provence. It's done, I'm switched. I will be taking painting and drawing (manditory classes for my new major anyway..), and there will be many trips - including one 10-day [painting] trip to Venice. Maybe I'll like it better this second time around.
So in 3 days I was able to change my life path from Business woman to Artsy-Fart. :-D I'm so happy with this.
my second thanksgiving is today. i am going shopping with the madre first. Old Navy, and Michaels. I am pumped. I might get some more yarn for some new projects. I'm almost done with a scarf I've been working on since last year. I'm doing a little more than what I did last black friday (sleeping through the sales). baaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahaa. Anywho, I'll be driving around for a couple hours then I'll be back here to bake a pie or something. My dad said to bring my own food to Thanksgiving. And suggested making a key lime pie.
My feeling of euphoria is gone but at least I'm going HOME TOMORROW. Wicked excited. Can't wait to: See the fam., Chill with Adam and Alex, go to the UBER CREEPY PLACE - during daylight for the photo project, eat my weight in mashed potatos. I also plan to see what Matt and Brandon are up to chill out with them asap. :o) Call Benjamin, and go on a late night drive.
Tonight I need to: Do accounting project, laundry, get 8+ hours of sleep, finish the playlist for tomorrow's ride home, pack clothes & shit, do dishes Tomorrow: GET PAYCHECK, pack car, eat or dispose of all the food in the fridge, take out trash, get gas (with the cheap N.H. prices!!!), clean the room
awI heard there was a flee market in Epping today. I woke up at 6:45 am because of the construction people (who are working on a holiday) and because i left my window open. I ate a bunch of candy and some cereal for breakfast. Then I decided that I wanted to go to that flee market (probably around 9). I forgot where Epping was and I went to Portsmouth to pick up some photos. That was good. Then I was heading back to UNH and just kept going West on Route 4. I don't know my New Hampshire Geography, I just knew which way WEST was. So I'm following this road. There are a million antique shops and some people protesting this corporation buying and distributing their water. There was this one adorable old lady with a scarf around her head holding a sign about it in a lawn chair on the shoulder of Route 4. So I'm driving. There's a man in a motorized wheelchair in a driveway behind a fold-out table with a bunch of VHS's on it with a sign that says 'yard sale'. I keep going thinking I'll turn back any minute. I hit Concord. I don't know where concord is I just know that they have martian lights which are usually located around bigger cities.
So I follow Route 4 for a while and it merges onto a highway. I go a couple exits and there's a sign that says "New Hampshire Veterans Cemetary next exit". Which was weird and relevant for today. The next sign told me that Route 4 got off the highway too. So I did, and went to the Cemetary. There were army guys at the entrance directing me where to Park when I just wanted to drive through. There were a few hundred people there though so I parked and went to where everyone was (equipped with my camera). Took some pictures of some proud veterans with their pins and badges. The Governer was there. She talked about how we should thank God for Veterans. A Senetor sent a letter to Thank the Veterans and currently serving military men for battling the war on terror IN IRAQ. [ Idiot. ] I walked around the cemetary part a bit and everyone was in rows many with crosses on their headstones (all the same font, style). I took some pictures of that. I left before the ceremony ended.
I kept driving into the boonies. The road got narrow and bumpy. I stopped a couple times to take pictures. Then I was in Andover. A cute little town, but the one before it is cuter. Anywho...There was a spraypainted sign by the side of the road that says "Camels!" and I look over and there are 2 camels and a donkey. I was pretty confused. So I stopped to get a couple pictures of the Camels. It was a fundraiser for the food bank, I told them that I was lost basically and that I had no food or money.. All of which was true. Whatev.. So I left Andover and continued West.. for a long time. It probably took hours. I went through all these small run-down almost towns with those outdoorsy men with big bushy beards. I saw no women to speak of after Andover. At one point I saw a sign for Vermont and I got a little worried. I pulled off the road into a Pizza place parking lot where I busted out the map. I plotted my route to Holyoke to visit Emily. Lol.. I started on my way then realized I should not go all the way down to massachusettes. I got on Highway 89 and took it all the way back to Concord. It was pretty uneventful until I got back to Lee. I was talking to my mom on the phone and trying to tell her where I went on the map and I almost swirved off the road into car parked in a driveway. I made a noise that would usually worry someone but my mom wasn't listening and I threw the map into the passengers seat and finished the conversation. I got back a little bit ago.
I'm pretty pumped about my photo project as of now. I'm consistantly using my wideangle lens, which is cool. Today I took pictures of Courtney and her car, my RA from last year also named Courtney and her horse, the lady who does tickets for the train (and the train), Seth and his skateboard... it's coming out well. Yesterday Joanna let me take some of her with her car. Still looking forward to: Tasha and her car, Garrett and his shoes, Mike and his Jeep.. I still need someone with a BIKE... yeah..BIKE! Or perhaps a motorcycle is anyone has one readily available.. This project is DUE (printed and everything) Thursday.
So I got the worst grade of my life on this Business Statistics Exam... I was really pissed about it and just told everyone i did bad while totally not telling them that I got a 37!!! (out of 100) But they ended up scaling it!!! 10 points for everyone, but then I double checked my answers with someone elses and they marked 2 more wrong than they should of!!! SO now my grade is a 53!! hahaha!! I'm pretty stoked, that's so much closer to passing!!! Like it's still not great but I was trying to figure out how the hell I was going to keep my GPA above 2.5 to study abroad.. lol... it looks like I could even pass the class. WooWee!
So this guy I work with, his name is Dash and he's from India.. He's possibly the most racist guy I know. It's REALLY bad. He says stuff about not trusting the Chinese and how Pakistan is the "enemy country". Like it's funny at first, but he really means it. He won't buy pens from China and nothing from Pakistan. He won't buy anything that's more than $5 and says how he can get it for much cheaper in India. He makes me want to go to India, really bad. I'm going.
