Relaxation Kicks ass

Ahh yes, the evil creepy smile

Today was full of adventure.

We had a lifeguard tripping on mushrooms trying to quit his job, while another got caught smoking marjauana in someone's car. While on the job.

This all should of stressed me out, normally I would scream and whine about how unfair the world was to me.

But instead I used my relaxations, and purchased a book of Zen quotations. I found this saying very useful today

"One day while walking through the wilderness a man stumbled upon a vicious tiger. He ran but soon came to the edge of a high cliff. Desperate to save himself, he climbed down a vine and dangled over the fatal precipice. As he hung there, two mice appered from a hole in the cliff and began gnawing on the vine. Sudeenly, he noticed on the vine a plump wild strawberry. He plucked it and popped it in his mouth.
It was incredibly delicious!"

I gave Greg a book on the Tao, Amber was really getting into Taoism and it seems to be doing well for her, so I figured maybe Greg could use it to find more balance in his life without the use of drugs or alchohal. I hope he takes it seriously and really gives it a chance, of course I havent read the book myself yet.

I'm thinking about reading some Nietzsche, but when asking Dean about it he told me to try Socrates and Plato first. This philosophy stuff is quite entertaining. Now that I'm not such a trancendentalist, I've been opening up my mind to other worlds of thought.

Dean: well, you can probably find a couple books about/by plato in the library
Dean: the dialogues are pretty good
Dean: and pretty standard fare
Dean: nietzsche is actually fairly advanced as far as history is concerned
Dean: you may also want to read about utilitarianism and kantianism
Dean: and about the categorical imperative

kant too....just want to remember all this for tommorow

In other news...

Soccer got stung the other day, but he seems to be doing better now. I think I will take him to the park tommorow. I cant wait until school starts, and a creepy part of me misses calculus and physics. Chemistry 2 should be alot of fun. I am really liking this philosophy and inner psycology stuff though, and the human sexuality class should be an absolute blast.

Maybe one of these days I will keep a real journal.
