The latest Sonic TV adaptation, Sonic Prime, is the franchise’s exploration of a multiverse storyline, exploring many different parallel worlds and characters. The first episode, Shattered, takes place in the familiar Green Hill where Dr. Eggman and his cronies cause lots of mayhem in search of magical gemstones, as they normally do. Is this just a battle against yet another evil machine, or is a devious trick hidden within?

Throughout the Mario Kart franchise, there are a few courses that many players dread. From Ghost Valleys to Rainbow Roads, perilous drops and devious obstacles await you at every turn. Bowser’s Castle is no different, and often features a nice hot pool of lava to fall into.
Bowser’s Castle has been the setting of several LEGO Super Mario sets, and this is the first time we’re seeing it in the Mario Kart subtheme. Other than 72036 Baby Peach & Grand Prix Set, at the time of writing this is the only other set in this subtheme with a significant amount of scenery in the build.

Whether you faced him in Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins, played along with him and his zany friends in the many WarioWare titles, or chose him to pummel your opponents in Super Smash Bros, Wario is a favourite among the fans and is a welcome addition to the Mario line, not having appeared as an enemy in any earlier Mario course packs. King Boo is a repeat, but we still love him, especially since he’s another face you can hear!

Yet again, the partnership between LEGO and Nintendo proves to be the perfect educational toy for teaching everyone about ancient technology. Since 1989, ‘Game Boy’ has been a household name, entertaining generations. The real ones know the hardships of lugging around extra batteries so you have enough juice to beat the final boss, or by making sure the lighting conditions paired with the perfect contrast are just right to see all the action. This one goes out to all the kids who huddled under a blanket with a torch just to play ‘one more level’ before bed.
This model is personally significant to me, as it likely is to many readers, and evidently was to the designers as well. The Game Boy was my introduction to a lifelong love of video games and Nintendo. In childhood, a family friend from Japan brought me a Game Boy from overseas and would occasionally send more games. Because of this, I had played Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening in Japanese for about six years before getting the DX version in English on Game Boy Colour in 1999. Not knowing the language, and with a bit of patience, I still prevailed!
SetToBuild lore aside, let’s get into it.

With the frequency at which LEGO releases sets based around parties, you could be forgiven for thinking “Oh dear, another party that I’ll have to make an excuse not to attend…”. Don't worry—this is a shindig you won't want to miss! This humble gathering has a soundtrack which makes my heart sing with nostalgia, and we're all invited.

What in the Teddy bear Voltron is this, you say? Fortnite’s Mecha Team Leader skin was introduced in 2019, at the same time as this giant robot became part of the game’s main story in Season 9.
Throughout July that year, the Pressure Plant map location gradually updated to show the progress of a huge mechanical figure being assembled. Once complete, it was decorated with several styles which refer to other aspects of the game, before it fought and ultimately destroyed the main antagonist of the season, The Devourer.

Don’t be alarmed, this isn’t a Star Wars x Super Mario crossover. To us ancient gamers, the P-Wing has a different meaning: in Super Mario Bros. 3 on the NES, the P-Wing is an object that allows the player to fly infinitely in a level of their choice. In Mario Kart 8, however, the P-Wing Kart appeared as an exotic supercar that is so slick, it looks like it could fly right off the track.

This is the third set featuring a Standard Kart to be released, and the second at this scale.

This small set adds a mining feature to the interactive heroes’ repertoire, for collecting digital coins and LEGO diamonds.

A few months after the release of LEGO Fortnite, the Lost Isles update in September 2024 brought a new jungle area to the game.
The star of the show was a larger-than-life Fortnite character: the Klombo. We’ve been hoping since then that this friendly monster would appear in the brick, and now it finally has!

Continuing the playset wave after 77075 Peely & Sparkplug's Camp’s start, this is the first structure-focused set of the LEGO Fortnite theme.
In the LEGO Fortnite Odyssey game, the player can construct a myriad of building modules to populate their world, so I hope this is the first of many such physical building sets.

Since 1992, Mario Kart has been a staple of Nintendo console gaming—at 33 years old, the classic racing game has been around for as long as many fans can remember. It's the king of party games and the great resolver (or instigator!) of many feuds.
The latest release, Mario Kart World, is just around the bend of the rainbow road; the new game launches with the Switch 2 on 5 June 2025.
To celebrate this gaming icon, 72037 Mario Kart - Mario & Standard Kart brings us another brick-built sculpture, joining the likes of 71411 The Mighty Bowser, 71438 Super Mario World: Mario & Yoshi, and 71374 Nintendo Entertainment System.

After Cinderella’s dress debut in 43266, two more additions have been made to this new ‘dress display’ set range. They’re certainly dramatic, but are they going to prove fashionable among LEGO fans? The appeal of the dresses may be limited, but excellent minidolls and some interesting parts and colours might redeem this unusual set.

Since its debut in Mario Kart 64, the Spiny Shell (also known as the Blue Shell) has caused countless headaches for gamers the world over. The turtle-shell shaped item is usually given to players near last place in a Mario Kart race. When used, it barrels down the track homing towards the player in first place, taking out anyone in its path before knocking out the race leader with a targeted attack.
Shoppers can now get their hands on this iconic item through the LEGO Insiders Reward Centre for 2500 of their hard-earned points, which is about £15.63.

LEGO has been expanding its repertoire to bring children more objects for display rather than play in their rooms. These new ‘dress sculpture’ models follow other display-style sets in recent themes like Fortnite or Wicked.
43266 Cinderella's Dress does at least have some added compartments for play, but its overall purpose seems to be to showcase the dress model.
Is this new approach dressed to impress, or will it burst at the seams?
