no i don't think those characters are siblings i think they're friends. I don't think that's their mom I actually think she's their friend. I don't think they're related actually I think they're friends with each other.
not to be mean but you just know that some ships only get popular because of a widespread (and totally ooc) fanon interpretation of one or both characters
The worst part of being peripherally exposed to fandom drama is when you know some part of the accepted narrative is bullshit because you can smell the spin on it, but you aren't familiar enough with the topic to spot exactly what part. Logically I know I should let it pass, but there's a Mystery To Be Solved, dammit.
Sometimes I do ship something and it's not unpopular its just that fanon harbors enough popular misconceptions to make the content frequently unreadable. So I will be like "can I have my ship please" and the internet will go "sure! here are a thousand results!" and I will go "is it actually my ship or is it some guys who are basically totally different characters in all meaningful ways that someone is having masquerade as my blorbos?" and the answer is yes often enough that I give up
media literacy would automatically go up 100% if people knew how to consume stories without self-inserting themselves into the characters' shoes. "if i were him..." you're NOT. you may relate to his story, his past, his traits, his quirks, his identity but the moment you start treating the story accepting what you feel/think as what the character feels/thinks, you're misunderstanding the story.
