Bow Wow Wow
I have been a Bow Wow Wow fan ever since i first heard Annabella`s sweet voice and the awesome, powerful music of Matthew, Dave & Leigh doing C-30, C-60, C-90, Go!. I have been hooked on their music (and to be honest, in love with Annabella, ever since). I collect everything i can find on this great group who should have been huge superstars in America. They have their own sound and own style and i have never heard a Bow Wow Wow song i didn`t like. `I`m Not A Know-It-All` is my all-time favorite BWW song,as it`s one of the coolest and most hypnotic songs ever recorded. `Go Wild In The Country` is my 2nd fave song by them. I really wish they would have recorded and released more music over the years and hopefully they do release a new cd sometime in the near future. Also, a live dvd would be fantastic. I`m just happy Annabella and Leigh did bring the band back together and are making their fans happy all over again by touring and playing live some of the best music ever written and recorded. They sound as good as ever and Annabella sounds great and is as beautiful as ever. Rock On, Bow Wow Wow, Rock On !!!

Favorie BWW song: 'Louis Quatorze' and 'Golly! Golly! Go buddy!'
Favorite member of BWW: Nope, I like everyone the same. They're a band, after all.
Have you ever seen BWW live?: I hardly see any live acts these days, unfortunately.
Favorite BWW record: See Jungle! See Jungle! Go Join Your Gang, Yeah. City All Over! Go Ape Crazy.
If BWW were to make a new album, would you buy it?: Of course.
Why do you like BWW?: They have what I'd like to think of as a unique, light and colourful sound. They're innovative, eccentric, and interesting -- unlike a million bands that sound alike. I really love Annabella Lwin's voice, which is lovely and interesting. Basically, they're music is fabulous.

I'm a new Bow Wow Wow fan, since the middle of last summer, so I've been devouring everything I can find about them. I found the link to this 'fan club' on the bowwowwow.org website. I noticed that Phil Gough posted a concert announcement, VH-1 Bands on the Run, as a comment to one of the earlier posts, and this community's originator posted info about a show in New York, so I figured I'd get on here in case I can make anything of any future last minute announcements. I've heard "I Want Candy" all my life without really thinking about it. It's a fun song, but it wasn't until VH-1 Classic was promoting their We Are the 80's series of CD's that I gave Bow Wow Wow any thought. I caught a segment devoted to Bow Wow Wow. The host, Lynn Huffman, said they influenced bands like the Red Hot Chili Peppers, appearing in the lyrics of "Suck My Kiss" (Swimming in the sound of Bow Wow Wow) and No Doubt, borrowing drummer Adrien Young for recent live performances. I love the Red Hot Chili Peppers, so I decided I'd keep listening. I'd never made the connection that those lyrics were talking about a band. They then played a video of a live performance of "W.O.R.K." from an MTV New Year's Eve show maybe 1982. It was so weird - I loved it. They're not just spelling 'work'. The W and the K are pronounced. The song was full of energy. The bass was funky like RHCP. Then my power went out for 5 hours. I couldn't record it on the DVR. When the power finally did come back, I went to iTunes to hear more. The more I heard, the more I loved, so I've been devouring since.

Favorite BWW record: Wild in the U.S.A. I love live records in general because I can pretend I'm there.
If BWW were to make a new album, would you buy it?: Definitely
Why do you like BWW?: The music is unlike anything else. Annabella barks, raps, chants, but she also sings quite beautifully. The bass parts are near virtuosic and not stock pop. None of the parts are stock pop for that matter. The songs are slightly naughty. Annabella has so much charisma.

I'm aware this is pretty much dead, but I shall post nevertheless. I thought there'd be more Bow Wow Wow fans around here ... or that the interest was growing, what with them being featured so heavily on the "Marie Antoinette" soundtrack (which I may add worked deliciously in the film).

Note To Adrian about San Diego, 94.9
I never considered ever buying a Bow Wow Wow album until I heard you on 94.9. I really like how you talked about the musicianship, and the effort it took to get the African style of drumming down for Bow Wow Wow's music. You being excited about the music made me excited about the music. I went home and ordered Bow Wow Wow's "Wild in the U.S.A." People gave it mixed reviews, but that is only because they were looking for live, and there are some remixes on there. I've listened to it about ten times now, with a different ear, thanks to you. I'm thinking about getting the "I Want Candy" import, because I think that is all live music. Anyone have any other suggestions as to some of their live stuff?
Anyway, thanks for coming to San Diego. Regret missing you at Brick By Brick. Next time for sure.
