@evilfreakybilly made me post this
surely this cannot be too hard a concept for people to grasp
We need to bring “read another book” type energy to like, fandom in general, and I’m not joking.
If you could go back 20 years an get people, at scale, to expand their taste in fiction beyond Harry Potter, we would not be here right now.
People focusing on the Harry Potter series on this post are missing the point.
The point isn't that Harry Potter itself is the problem, it's that a large fandom obsessed with one work, and only one work, to the exclusion of all other works, combined with a rapturous devotion to that specific creator, resulted in a socio-political landscape where one very popular author of children stories can single-handedly swing a society into a genocide.

Someone probably thought of this before but Swap AU where Ghost takes Dewi's place as a human while Dewi takes Ghost's place as a bug.
Okay this is an amazing AU idea. Any excuse to draw Bee Dewi is a good one.
Even with a role swap it seems Dewi is the one who finds Ghost and forms a friendship off curiosity and care. Dewi is very content to keep his super cool human a secret, but it’s like trying to hide Clifford the Big Red Dog in a blue room.
Also- this has the crazy implication of … 1. the humans still being in medieval king times and the bugs being in “modern day” or 2. Modern day for humans. Idk I think #1 would be quite interesting!
Okay that’s your AU of the day ❤️ have fun
She’d look similar to her Human version from turning from bug to human in that other fun au idea :)
Hornet would reveal herself in this story by coming to try and find her escape artist of a sibling. When she finally finds Ghost, Dewi flies up to say hi.
Dewi soon learns that not every human is as willingly brave to have a bee land on their face like Ghost and gets swatted… he’s okay tho! Just a bit more cautious.
Me, trying to impress my date with a display of my boundless humility: I would like to order one single, solitary crumb.
Waitress taking my order: Such arrogance! Not only do you presume to boast under the guise of being humble, but your order employs the most decadent of linguistic excesses - the tautology!
My date, who until recently thought "tautology" referred to the study of tensile strengths and upon learning her mistake compensated by reading through its Wikipedia article: That would be more correctly identified as a "pleonasm".
The editor I hired to curate my posts who styles himself as a sort of scheming court advisor: My liege, this one is getting away from us. The punchline loses much of its impact when the rest of the joke is derailed by this increasingly self-indulgent meta humour. Were it up to me, your Grace, which of course it is not, I would cut the others and leave myself as the only supporting character. You need noone else, Your Majesty...
