The trip to the 2009 Tybee Island Pirate Festival was a blast. I couldn't ask for a better crew with which to set sail. Many great memories were made and many grate pictures were taken. Captain Drew took some great shots for us and even put a great watercolor filter on this one.
We had a day that felt like fall with the amber light and a warm dry crackle in the air. Then, we had many days of rain with the fury of the flood waters taking over. Now that the sun has been out, the dampness of so much rain abates under the bright yellow sun. The crisp chill has returned to the air. It feels like fall again and soon the leaves will turn to their brilliant display.
Ok, I'm all packed up and ready to attend! It's going to be a great con this year! I'm at work a block away from the hotels and I can barely contain the excitement!!!
I'll be working at the Hilton in Digital Gaming like I was last year and will also be security staff for the Pirate Party on Sunday night. Saturday I'll be in the Marriott around noon for the Disney Pirates costume group.
"energy savings at the Sears Tower, which is to be renamed the Willis Tower this summer, would be equal to 150,000 barrels of oil a year, officials said."
Just imagine if all buildings would be updated like this to require a fraction of the energy costs. It would make wind / solar / hydro / geothermal powers completely overkill and no oil would be needed.
Happy Birthday pyanfar! Hope you enjoy your day off! Would definitely have enjoyed sleeping in with you this morning.
Hopefully the landlord gets the AC fixed soon today so it's not unbearably hot. Reminds me of an oblation I've been meaning to take care of.
I had an unexpected crash-course in Python as a test yesterday evening. But it was only a test, I think i passed even though there was a lot of head-scratching. It's been a long time since 617: C++ data Structures... Maybe it'll lead to something. I hope it was worth missing yoga =)
The sim died in my Nokia6085, so I could get a new sim for $25 or a new Nokia2600c-b2 with sim included for $50. I'm enjoying my new phone and I'm happy to just be able to make phone calls and text.
I looked at all the other phones while I was at the store and thought about how much they can do in addition to making phone calls. Many of us don't wear watches or carry cameras around because they take the place of them. They have also merged with the portable internet devices so you only need to carry one appliance that does it all. GPS? Yup, many of them can do that too.
