Re-introducing

I used to be a member here. This place comforted me a while back when I was dealing with my eating disorder. I have changed journals a few times since then. I would like to look at myself as recovered but I am still to this day dealing with the issues that came from my body dismorphia.

I have a boyfriend that I have been living with for almost 3 years now. In this time frame, I have learned to appreciate my own unique beauty and my own personal talents. I don't hound the mirror anymore, as well as check my weight ten times a day like I used to.

However, I have gained a little weight since then and looking to lose about 20 pds and maintian. Problem is I have never really learned how to diet properly with out restricting everything. I am afriad that once I see progress I will just keep going and pick up my old ways.

Another problem is that my boyfriend wants to join me and find excercises to do together. Cute yes, but embarressing for me. I'm an excercise alone kind of gal.

Does anyone have any excerises that are both girl and guy friendly?

So frustrating.... For over a week I havent eaten more than 600 cals MAX (for 3 days straight i ate under 400 cals)... I've gone to spinning classes, worked out, and AM NOT LOSING FAST ENOUGH. ive lost like, 2 lbs in 10 days. Thats NOTHING.

Ive always believed that that whole 'Starvation Mode' thing where when you dont eat enough your body holds onto the fat is bullshit-- that weight loss = eat less calories than you burn off.... But maybe its not??? UGH!!!!

its been a while

My name is Taira and ive been a part of this community for YEARS now. When I was in highschool I had the typical body image problems. At 5 foot, I weighed 135, starved myself down to 95, got into a relationship, back to 135, bad breakup + drugs + walking = 105. I was happy at 105... then I found out I was pregnant. Now I have a beautiful 6 month daughter, and about 25 extra pounds. So now I am back around the 130 area. Im trying to eat better and I do crunches once a day... thats all I really have time for.

Im really depressed about my body now, and discouraged because it just seems like im not going to lose this weight, let alone all the disgusting stretch marks and excess skin.

Im looking for some support and ideas to lose 20lbs as quickly as possible. Any cheap healthy recipes, inspiration, anything... help?!

vegetarian of 2 years needs help...

I haven't eaten meat in two years or so and I know that I need A LOT more nutrients.

I don't drink milk and rely on soymilk which I don't drink too often (a small box a month probably); but i'll eat something w/ milk in it. I don't eat eggs alone but I will eat something with them an as ingredient. No fish either :/

I love tofu but i'm lucky if I get to eat a portion twice a week.

About three years ago I restricted for a summer while I was in highschool...I collapsed twice, and ever since then I have those moments where you know you get up to fast and you feel as if you're almost blacking out, vision goes out and you have to grab on to something (I know some of you know what I'm talking about). Well this shit happens to me quite frequently maybe 2-3 times a week, sometimes more.

I don't know I'm really worried about myself and I have a problem of trying to forget about things and let them heal on their own, but the heart is too important.

Can someone tell me my recommended needs of amino acids, protein, vitamins, etc? And also some ingredients high protein?

i recently joined a gym and am looking to get toned. right now my routine is 30-45 minutes on the eliptical, 15 minutes on a bike and 5 minutes walking before and after. but obviously i'm looking for how to get toned. i'm seriously clueless here so..

Heyy everyone! My name's Lauren. I'm 23, and currently weigh 107 lbs. I don't have a weight goal, because I'm more interested in looking toned than caring about how much I weigh. The difficulty lies in the stomach region, as most of you can relate. I'll post my daily food/work out routine below.. so you know what I do. I'm looking for some suggestions on how to slim/tone the mid region, and regain the dancers body I once had. I know you can't necessarily spot reduce, but I can't seem to fully flatten that area and I know it can be a lot flatter, because it was completely flat two years ago.

Usually, my typical day is as follows: Five days a week.

6AM Bender Ball Advanced Video (approx. 20 minutes)
7:30AM Cherrios with a banana and skim milk.
8:00AM Special K. 4g Protein Bar.
8-3PM I have work.
3:00PM Special K. 10g Protein Meal Replacement Bar
3:30-5:00PM Gym (I start with 45 minutes on the elliptical, weight training for 30 minutes, running 20 minutes, stretch)
5:15PM Special K. 10g Protein Meal Replacement Bar
6:00-10:30PM Class
10:30PM Bender Ball Advanced Video

On the weekends, I'll do another hour and half workout, and will also have a protein bar before and after workout. I don't have pictures right now, but hopefully I will get to taking some later on this week.

The Protein bars have been working really well for me. They aren't that unhealthy for you, and they keep me full. I also drink water, almost obsessively throughout the day, and a bottle of Propel at the gym. I spend about $22 a week on them, though.. that's the only downside to it.

So, any feedback is appreciated. I'm also looking to add some more people to my journal, so if you're interested lemme know!
