melisandre is such a fascinating character to me she shows up for like 2 books straight and is basically like an evil advisor going yess... kill that little boy. Please let me kill that boy. then kills renly. and you have to just accept melisandre is like that and for real has magic powers beyond anyone else in the story at the current moment. and then book 5 we finally get one chapter of her pov and its like oh yeah. melisandre goes out of her way to make davos's oldest living son stay behind so davos doesn't have to lose another. and she's fully aware davos will never thank her for this or realize that she does this. and of course asoiaf loooves its dramatic irony of the reader knowing the characters are wrong and melisandre's visions are so obvious to us as outsiders who know more. but it isnt obvious to her so she's walking down this path just ever so slightly wrong and mixing up her vision interpretations. plus shes very aware of how people do not trust her and think of her as weird or strange and basically her only qualm with this is that people choose not to listen to her over this. and then that pov chapter drops the fact she was a child slave who could do nothing else except devote herself to rhllor and its like christ alive melisandre you really have to have been through it.

asoiaf melisandre of asshai mel ❤️

Catelyn Stark / Lady Stoneheart portrait in the waters of the Green Fork ...inspired by "The Head of Medusa " by Caravaggio...because I think I'm obsessed with this painting ...😀Also ..I keep thinking that it fits Lady Stoneheart...somehow ...right? Because the legend is if you look at the head /eyes of Medusa you will turn into stone ...and I think the same think happens with Lady Stoneheart ...if you look at her eyes ...you will die ( not by turning into stone but by hanging ...but the principle is there) ..also in the text her eyes are mentioned everywhere ...it's all you can think ...those "burning pits" ...and of course the name ...LADY STONEHEART....I think Catelyn Stark is the Medusa of ASOIAF...
