Baby Name and Age: twin boys: Sebastian and Gabriel, 3 months, born Dec. 6th Weight/length/clothing size being worn: 0-3, both going into 3-6 now. Sebastian is bigger than Gabriel, but they're both around 15 lbs, I'd guess. Food! Formula? Breastmilk? Combo? Fill us in: Breastmilk and formula. I feel like I'm nursing babies all day (and night!) long. Haven't got that whole tandem feeding thing down, so its one after the other. Hubby gives them bottles when I need a break, or during his shifts at night. Sleep habits: They both sleep pretty reliably from 8-10pm to 3 -5 am, and wake after that every 2 or 3 hours to eat, then go back to sleep until around 9 am when they stay awake for a bit. Gabriel's been refusing to go back to sleep sometimes at night the past few, which is quite frustrating. During the day, Seb only naps for 30-45 minutes at a go, while Gabe will often nap for an hour or 2, so very often Seb will be put down with Gabe, then Seb will be up again and ready to be put down again just as Gabe is waking for the first time. They've been like this since they were born, Seb just seems to need less sleep than Gabe. My first was a cat napper at this age as well. What is your baby's day like (routine?): I have 3 kids under 2 (my oldest son is 21 months), so every day is a blur. We have no routine right now beyond managing the basics of eating, sleeping, etc.. The kids all get up between 9 and 10. The babies stay awake 1-2 hrs at most each, then nap. They eat on demand, every 1-3 hours. I try to make sure each baby gets plenty of one on one love and attention, and that the boys get to spend time together as well. We're trying to get out more often as well, with trips to the mall, Grandma's, the park, and this week we even took all 3 with us to Friday's for lunch. What is driving you crazy, if anything: The non-stop work. The laundry. The tag-teaming. The crying in the backseat. We are also struggling with recurring thrush and a yeasty rash, as I was on antibiotics after they were born. Baby milestones: Both babies are smiling a TON. I love this. My first was a very serious baby and you really had to work for it with him. Gabriel makes the cutest sounds- giggles and squeals, and little puppy sounds. Sebastian loves to 'talk' to you and blow raspberries at you. He is discovering his hands. They both are liking to be sat up and put in the bumbo seat now. How are you doing in general: I'm surviving. How's the love life/relationship going: We're both really stressed and tired, and this is leading to some fights, but we work it out and are both really committed to our marriage. It doesn't help that we can't sleep together right now as we practice NFP with abstinence during the fertile periods, and I'm still waiting on my first cycle. Are your health and weight loss concerns going well?: My c-section incision is messed up. I'm happy with my weight, but because I was on bed rest for months before giving birth and lost muscle tone, I'm all flabby. I need to find some time and energy to start toning up. Pictures:( Collapse )
The trip was well timed, as my morning sickness kicked in only at the very end. Can you believe that we only decided to go less than 24 hours before we left to make this cross-country trip with our 10 month old??

Joshua has really taken off crawling. One day he was just stumbling along, the next, he was taking off across the room on a whim. That same day he started pulling up on things and he's really focused and dedicated to working on that, lol.
We are hoping to be going home to NJ to visit soon. We need to find out from my SIL in Austria when they will be having their spring break, as my MIL will be going over there while we watch Mary and Grandma. We'll be using the family leave we still have from when Joshua was born, so we'll be taking a month off- two weeks babysitting together at the in-laws', two weeks for our personal vacation. We are hoping that we will enough $ to visit NJ for our vacation, my mom and the rest of my family still haven't met Joshua :(
It may come down to NJ and moving again. It is rediculous that I want to move again so soon, especially since the townhouse we're living in right now is very nice and spacious for a good price, and in a good location, but I am just hung up on wanting our own yard. What we have now is a shared courtyard, just open grass, no trees, direct sun, our patio is just a slab of concrete, and we are smack dab in the middle of our 'group' of homes, so I feel like I have no where to go outdoors. I just want a private, fenced in yard SO BADLY. I really want to have a barbeque for Joshua's first Birthday. There is a place I'm interested in here in Nampa, with a brand new covered deck, yard with a mountain view and no back neighboors, wood floors, etc, for just a little more than we're paying now. The guy just needs to set up a date for viewing.
Joshua- almost 8 months old- here are the many things I love about you:
I love your bright eyes and your ready smile. I love your squeels and your ridiculous delight in blowing rasberries all day long. I love your curiosity and focus. I love your kissably soft and chubby cheeks. I love that you smell like warm milk. I love your giggles. I love your chubby thighs. I love the way you stare at your own hands and feet in perfect admiration and amazement; truthfully, I look at you the same way. I love how you take every moment as it comes, good or bad. I love how easily you go back to playing when you get a bump or a scratch; all you need is Mama or Dada to hold you and coo and all is well again. I love all the funny faces you make, and so very much more. You and David are the reasons I get up every day. I love you.
Joshua is 7.5 months old. He's no longer a floppy blob of a person- he's a smiley, playful, curious, drooling little monkey. He's starting to be more mobile, does a bit of an army crawl, and it totally terrifies me. I'm so not ready to be chasing him around while he searches for death/makes a mess. No more plopping him on a blanket with a few toys while I internetz. What will I do?!
Hubby let me sleep in until 1pm today, while he watched the boy and cleaned the house. Then he made me food. I love him. I feel very fortunate to have him.
Tomorrow I'm going to the March For Life in Boise with Diane, then she's treating me to lunch. Should be nice, if it doesn't rain.
Did I mention this? The Boy was born with dark brown hair, but when it fell out, it grew back in blonde. I have a blonde-haired, blue-eyed boy. WTF. I'm sure he'll go back to being a brunette as he gets older, but I hope he keeps his blue eyes, like his daddy did.
