I admittedly don’t know exactly what I thought when I created her and Mike because I was like six years old lol. I just wanted a boy and girl character to interact with the world! A dynamic duo!
Sue was only replaced by Lucy because Lucy was designed to be prettier lmao
Or rather Lucy looked different enough from Mike that they were easy to tell apart. Sue and Mike used to look IDENTICAL save the eyelashes. Sue didn’t even have a necklace back in the day, and Mike didn’t wear a scarf. So they were twinning.

In the New Year’s Resolutions chapter, on the page where Mike said Paulo was his best mate, you can hear the sound of serious drama shattering. Tell me, will we hear it again? I’d love to hear that beautiful sound more often) Oh! And another thing, if Lucy hadn’t seen the water down below on the bridge during the Acapulco trip because of a comment by the best character, Cactus, what would’ve happened? Would Paulo have managed to sleep with Tess? Did Lucy bring December closer?
Veronica: Mike was already growing resentment for Lucy at that time so December woulda just happened later if Lucy didn’t faint during the vacation arc. There’s really nothing Lucy coulda done to prevent December.. other than willfully pulling herself from hanging out with Mike.
But even THAT was pissing him off, because Mike is possessive!!!! Lucy was just damned lol

There were things about Lucy that genuinely irritated Mike - some of the roughhousing and tsundere bullshit - and Sandy unintentionally just gave him the excuse to burn it all down because despite all his annoyances, and Lucy’s desire to change once she knew what bothered him.. yeah Lucy was a temptation

do daisy and lucy even like eachother? or do they just kind of tolerate eachother bc of mutual friends? i know daisy resents lucy for a variety of reasons, & lucy finds daisy kind of annoying, but theyve known eachother for so long and have each gone out of their way several times to show they care for eachother. but i also cant really imagine them hanging out just the 2 of them.
Veronica: Lucy and Daisy are definitely just friends because of mutual friends. They wouldn’t talk to each other otherwise, their vibes are too different.
That being said, Lucy likes Daisy more. Daisy thinks she likes Lucy more because of how much she performs niceness, but Lucy sees through that. She’s aware of the resentment.
Lucy and Daisy are like east coast vs west coast.. New Yorkers (Lucy) are not nice, but kind. Californians (Daisy) are nice, but not kind. lol
I know in the past there have been things you have went back and rewrote because you weren't satisfied with it, so I was curious: do you have any specific sections that, while not adjusted now, you plan on going back to adjust eventually? (And any insight into why that moment specifically if so?) What goes into choosing what is and isn't worthy of adjustment down the line?
Veronica: I don’t think I have anything to adjust at this point that doesn’t require completely redrawing segments! So there’s no plans for that. At the most maybe I’ll alter some dialogue that was too vague upon first reading? But nothing dramatic like what happened with the omnibus.
Omnibus 2 will have multiple exclusive chapters that help with the story but they’re not gonna be in the archive.
how does any normal bcb fan keep their sanity. me when lucy playfully pushes augustus’ buttons/is playfully smug in a way that shows comfortability in their relationship, and everyones decided that means shes evil incarnate and augustus will realize mike was “right” about her and

as someone who educated themself on the concept of "good victim vs bad victim" specifically because i was turned into the blackened by my old group of friends for being a "bad victim", i just think mike and lucy both need to find new friends far removed from their group. i hate both of their current behavior, but i hate my old behavior too. i hate who i used to be, but i mysteriously became better once i was no longer around ppl who were triggering me. funny how that works.
Veronica: fwiw I don’t actually like separating “good victims” from “bad victims.” I think people’s empathy shouldn’t be rescinded if a victim acts out, so that’s what I’m playing with and putting to the test.
I’m glad you were able to heal and were able to find a better environment so you could take care of yourself!

Is Rachel capable of impulsively kissing Augustus, like Lucy did with him, like Mike did with Lucy, like Mike did with Daisy? Will we see more impulsive kissing in general?
Veronica: I don’t think Rachel is the kinda person to impulsively kiss.. her kisses are measured and well-thought out lol. It usually happens after a lot of flirting and pre-game lol
As for if other characters will impulsively kiss.. well some are definitely more impulsive than others lol
Rachel’s final kiss could be seen as impulsive, but I dunno.. it was after a lot of touching and flirting. Paulo was picking up what Rachel was putting down!
