Monday morning I realized that I had no clean jeans to wear for the rest work week so, like a good boy, I gathered up my clothes and and put a load of jeans and a few shirts in the washer.
Only, I forget to put them in the drier before I go to bed late Monday morning. Thankfully, I wake up early enough Monday night to put a pair of jeans and a shirt in the drier so they'll be dry for me to wear to work in an hour and a half.
I put the clothes in the drier, turn it on and do some cleaning.
It's 11:30 and I'm suddenly in a hurry. I'm mostly ready, just need to put on pants and shirt and I'm good to go. I open the drier and I find wet clothes.
Suddenly I can't remember if I had actually turned the drier on or not. Either way, it's too late. I grab the jeans, toss them on the back of a chair and go to my room and put on some shorts and a shirt. I grab the wet jeans and leave.
I get to work and put the wet jeans on the back of a chair hoping they'll be dry in a few hours.
time passes, and they dry a lot, but remain damp. I have a brilliant idea. I move them to right under an air conditioner vent...turn it on full blast and am the vent directly at them.
They seem to be drying a bit faster but not fast enough. thick parts stay damp. pockets stay damp.
I turn jeans inside out.
Anywho, it's about 5 minutes till seven. I expect the maid to come an clean my office any minute now...so I go and put on my jeans.
And they are mostly dry, thank goodness, except for the crotch area, which is still rather damp and now, ice cold.
So I'm sitting here for a half hour with half-frozen balls before they finally start to warm up a bit.
Not exactly my happiest moment.
Anyway, we fast forward.
I get home Tuesday morning, put the rest of my stuff in drier, turn it on. When it finishes, i turn it on some more for good measure. go to bed. Wake up, go to get some clothes.....and they're still wet.
Suddenly I have a flash back to freezing balls and shiver. There is no way i'm doing that again...so I turn drier on in hopes that they're not as wet as they feel, only a bit damp.
I let them go for 30 minutes (all the time I have), check them...still damp. not even a arm damp, but still cold.
then i realize...my friggin drier must be broke. so not only am I unhappy, but I'm thinking I'm gonna have to wear damp pants again in the morning...
when it dawns on me..
Wear the jeans you wore last night. they're good and dry now...
BRILLIANT, right?
so here i am wearing jeans i wore for a few hours yesterday....with a broke drier at home and every other pair of my jeans are wet.
I haven't really posted in a while, but i tend to go through phases where i get hooked on something and then completely ignore it and then back to being hooked on it.
Unfortunately, lately its been lj i've not cared too much about and only log in once every few days and thats o0nly to see if certain people have updated, completely ignoring everything else.
I did finally get around to reading the latest Dresden book, and thought it was great. Tho, it seems the series is getting away from magic and is leaning towards brute force. Dresden used to perform spells and such...now he just blasts people with wind or fire and throws up a shield whenever something looks dangerous.
still, i enjoyed it. can't wait till the next...as usual.
I've been through a handful of books since then, however, and am now reading Odd Hours. This is another of the series that I really like. I'm not too far in it yet, which is great cause it'll last just that much longer...but also bad cause I want know what happens now!
Already have my online payments (mortgage, cell, credit card, etc) set to be paid on the 2nd of next month...which is great as now I don't have to think about it two weeks in and be pissed at myself for being late again.
Don't know if i mentioned this but I bought a steam vac last week....and it rocks. I didn't enjoy spending over 200 bucks for it, but now that I've used it a few times I'm really glad i did. Its amazing to see just how dirty your carpet really is, even in places that looks clean.
I was worried that I wouldn't have much use for it after i get rid of the puppies (yeah, those lil buggers are the real reason i had to buy it....and cause echo decided that now shes a mommy she doesn't have to follow all my rules when she doesn't want to)...but seeing what comes up in places that i thought was clean, i figure it's a good investment.
My den carpet looks pretty good too, actually. I was pretty rough on it last year and there were several stains....and i spilled more than a few glasses of tea or dr pepper on the carpet. so yay for that too.
what else...oh, i also bought 12 books off amazon earlier...yay new books.
damn, echo just farted again. I think she needs to go out..I'll do that in a minute..
I ordered some shoes online Monday or Tuesday...forget which. I was hoping they'd be in today but I haven't' had a delivery so far so guess I'll have to wait until Monday for those.
I gave echo a bath today...she smells a lot better...she smelled a lot like puppy breath.
speaking of the puppies, they found their way to the den yesterday. which was annoying...they've been confining themselves to the bathroom or the hallway. I had figured seeing the steps down would be a bit daunting for them and they'd turn around. But I didn't take their lack of coordination into account and three of them tumbled down all three steps....so they stayed a while. One of them surprised me by actually climbing back to the top...the first stair is almost as tall as he is.....but once he got there, he fell back down. wonder if he enjoyed it?
later i had taken them back up stairs and was gonna put them all in the bathroom so i could leave the house....one was missing, looked everywhere upstairs and couldn't find it. Finally found her down stairs...don't know how she got there without me seeing, or how long she had been there...
later last night i brought them all down here and let them play for a while..i even got down in the floor with them for a bit and let them gnaw on me. Was fun. One of them got a hold of an ear lobe and that tickled a lot...unbearably actually...and had to jerk my head away so i could quit laughing and breath again.
then he got my hair and started yanking on it.
after a while i got back on the couch and they all settled around my feet and when to sleep, which was annoying as I couldn't move my feet for fear of hurting one of them.
Cindi texted me last night...She and Red are back in town for a couple of days. he had went off to work...thought he went to Kansas but he hadn't made it there yet. Went somewhere else for a few weeks first. he dropped by today shortly after i finished bathing echo, showering and then steam vaccuing the house...
and now i'm typing this...and about to let echo outside...and then i need to change and go buy groceries. i'm tired of there not being a darn thing in this house to eat when I'm hungry. i lucked out and found a hot pocket in the freezer earlier..been there for months...didn't even know what flavor it is/was...but it wasn't bad so i ate it anyway.
oh, and gas prices are insane. yesterday i put gas in my truck..cost me 85 bucks...and thats with me stopping before it clicked off because i got bored and was ready to leave. if it keeps going i may have to disconnect my cable to keep my truck going pretty soon lol...
or change my cell package. I don't even use half the features it has anymore...and hardly use any 'any time' minutes....I use all the free mobile to mobile or night and weekend minutes.
I think I used 25 any time minutes last month..and i hardly use the internet at all. Just to check my email every now and again or hit TC....
anywho, i'm out. hope you enjoyed your updategasm.
