Sauron Defeated and Other Bits of News

Middle-earth: Well, my friends, I'm happy to report that Middle-earth (at least as far as is represented by Governor Dodge State Park) is safe from Sauron and the forces of darkness for another month. As will probably be reported on ringgame.net, the forces of good were victorious at Second Age Game. In the process of playing Isildur, a lot fo really cool stuff happened to me. First off, at the campout, Jack pulled me aside and told me that because I was one of only three people to show up to Operation Valar, I got to have a new token during the game. So, had the Last Alliance of Elves and Men token which added points to my total for every Elf that was in the battle with me. It was pretty sweet. In the course of the game, I also carried around the White Tree token (which eventually got used on Barad-dur!) and the Narsil token (which eventually got handed to Anarion who used it to grab the One Ring). Everything ended up coming down to the last battle, though, where Good Team along with some help from the Dwarves kicked evil butt to win the day (that was where I used my special super-secret token). It was, quite possibly, the best game I've played, Second Age or Ring Game. And that's even counting the fact that it rained most of the day, too! At some point, I'll get my pictures up. To continue the march, though, Ring Game picks are thins Sunday evening. Don't really have any idea what I'm going to go for, so I guess we'll see.

Earth: Still in search of a new job. Don't really know what I'm going for, beyond something that will give me health insurance and vacation time. There is a company out in Middleton that manufactures particle accellerators (yeah! Middleton! Believe it or not) that I'm thinking might send a resumé off to. Problem is, I have no idea what I'd be qualified to do there! But, really, what can it hurt, I guess. Of course, all of that requires getting a resumé together to send.

Work: The latin dance club upstairs is apparently having some big concert tonight. There's a guy doing a sound check right now and he sounds really stupid... He's been doing a check on the vowel "ee" for about twenty minutes now.

Faerûn: So, Hadoriel and the Company went through their portal to Impiltur... and promptly ended up in an underground dungeon. Hadoriel would really like to know why portals always have to lead to underground dungeons. Why can't they ever lead to a day-spa or something?

Lathuria: Things are in motion very nicely indeed. I've let it out of the bag that something rather major is going to happen five years down the line, Lathuria time, so the Fellowship knows that something is being prepared for. The book is being carried around in Elara's Bag O' Schtick, but that most certainly will not help them, considering that they've made no secret of the fact that they have it. Currently, the Angels, Elves, Demons, and the Order of the Lamp all know they have it. Only one group remains to find out. Heh heh... let the race begin! The group isn't going to meet until November, though, which will give me plenty of time to plot.

Jararvellir/Northshield: Me and the other two little maids and fools (read Alienor and Tamar) are planning to go down to Janesville on Saturday for Day of Arbeau. It's a dance event and it sounds like a lot of fun. According to the Northshield website, Their Majesties will be there as well, which is pretty cool. After that, us girls are coming back home to have a Scarlet Pimpernel marathon. Going to be fun times this weekend.

The Bakery: I promised I would talk about cookies, so here's the spot. Cookies are tasty, aren't they? I'm especially fond of chocolate with peanut butter chips. Mmmm...

Ducere, all!

Updates from the Multiverse!

Earth: I have once again put through the paperwork to drop my old Astro major. Hopefully it will go through and be properly back-dated and whatnot so that I will actually get my fragging degree already. Meanwhile, work is putting me back on an evening schedule, which will make things interesting for all of my activities. I may end up having to drop out of Kelly's Hunter game for a while, which peeves me to no end since I don't get to see her or Kimisha very often otherwise. Rar...

Knowne World/Northshield/Jararvellir: Had a couple of demos on Library Mall the past two Wednesdays and I thought they went really well. Meanwhile, I'm beginning to get very excited about the upcoming Knowne World Costume Symposium which is going to be held here in Jararvellir in November and proves to be very cool indeed. In other news, I'm a member of house Greyfeathere, now, too. I made Chandler a tabbard to go over his armor with his arms on the front and the Greayfeathere badge on the back. I studpily didn't get a picture of it before I gave it to him, though, so I'll have to hope he likes it enough to wear it when I have my camera along! ^_^

Work: I swear to the almighty, I am going to take a sledge hammer to the 110 one of these days...

Faerûn: After having all Ghan's stuff, the group's treasure store, and an ancient book of ultimate evil stolen by baddies, Hadoriel and the Company of the Combustible Commode are off portal hopping from Waterdeep to Impiltur, half a continent away. Hadoriel just leveled up to nine, though, so she just got another fun Feat in the form of Spring Attack. The group still has to go deal with her ever-so-annoying-and-betrothed-to-her eleventh cousin, though. But, on the other hand, she'll be coming at him from the east instead of the west, now. Maybe he won't be expecting it. Unless he's scrying her, again... the freakoid...

Lathuria: Had a massive amount of inspiration yesterday as to where I am going to take the Fellowship of the Ever-Falling Troll. In a strange sorta way, it's going to tie back into what's going to be happening in the Spellweavers setting as a whole, although somewhat peripherally. I'm excited about it. It's my first real stab at an ongoing GMed story line. Hopefully it won't go kerflooie.

Middle-earth: I've been cast as Isildur for this year's Second Age Game. Jeff is playing a Dúnadan and Matt is playing a Nandor Elf (a first-time role very near and dear to the heart of yours-truly!). Gotta work on a few costume bits and I've only got a week as of today. Biggest reason that I had to weasel out of going to Northshield Coronation out in South Dakota this weekend. Operation Valar last weekend only had four people in total; Jack, Beth, Chris, and myself. Becasue of the small numbers, we pretty much stuck to cleaning up the game area. I picked up a whole jar full of hickory nuts, though; a habit I inherited from my squirrel grandparents, I imagine. If I get them cracked open and picked out in time, I hope to have enough for bread come Thanksgiving.

That's all from my worlds for today! Tune in next time when we discuss cookies. Well, not really. It just seemed like something fun to say.
