Berkeley Anonymous Confession Board

http://www.collegeacb.com/sb.php?s…

It is a free blog site that anyone can post on while being completely anonymous. You can ask the most simple questions about Berkeley or college life, or get a little more open and even blog about personal stuff. There is nothing you can't say. It's a site that gives people the opportunity to express what they are thinking and get responses without worrying about what anyone else thinks about them personally...pretty cool.

Show some support!

I think we are all ready for spring break! In the spirit of college students everywhere =)

My friends have made it to the top 20 in a YouTube Competition. Do you think you could vote and message this out to all your friends too so maybe they can win and be less starving actors? The most important thing is to only vote for each video once! If you are lazy, just vote positive for "Checklist"

YOUTUBE FAME!

Heehee my friend Mike and I wrote a song together last night. Then we decided it needed a music video recorded on his shitty camera. Then we decided that it needed to go on Youtube. So Susan makes her first musical debut as one of the lead singers of The Cocks first single "Horse Cock" from the album "Balls and ____". Hope you enjoy watching me purposefully sing badly and dance around like a silly person. WEEEE! Pass it on! 100% Original Composition too! Mike is good with the music and Susan is good with the bad singing and silly. Filmed at Stebbins Hall Co-op right here at UC Berkeley.

Attention: Undergraduate Students looking to Publish

The Berkeley Graduate is looking for
--> input for our summer issue <--
which is targeted to incoming graduate students.

Since we get out to EVERY incoming graduate student
(by way of being a part of the New Graduate Student Orientation packet)
if you want your prospective GSI's to know something like
effective methods of teaching,
what makes a good or bad GSI,
what you're looking for in a class,
etc;

getting that kind of input to us to print for them
is one of the best ways to change the system.

We like both essays and nuggets and would love to see what you come up with.
Deadline: July 25.

send email to:

Free breakfast, lunch, t-shirt, and kid!

Hi. I don't know if this is allowed so the moderators can delete this post, but it's for a really good cause.

On April 6, 2006 (Thursday) the YWCA (2600 Bancroft Way, corner of Bancroft & Bowditch) will be holding it's 13th Annual SHADOW DAY. It's a great event that helps local high school students from the Oakland and Richmond area. Often these students are minorities, from lower income families, and not college tracked. Shadow Day is intended to give these kids an opportunity to see first-hand what college life is really like. We also give them information on how to apply and pay for college.

HERE'S HOW CAL STUDENTS FIT IN:

We need a lot of CAL students to volunteer and show these kids what college life is like. Everyone gets matched one-on-one with a high school student. You can take them to your classes, take tours, go to museums, visit libraries, crash classes, etc. It's a great one day community service event (from 8AM - 3PM) and you're simply doing something that you ordinarily do (go to school). We give all our participants free breakfast, lunch, and t-shirts (and a free kid if you think about it...). It's a wonderful event and I hope you take the time to possibly impact someone's day, and possibly their future. Also, it's an easy way for some of you (like those in fraternities) to get some community service hours.

Check out photos from past YWCA Shadow Day events.

For more information and to pick up applications, please drop by the YWCA. Spread the word!

Thanks.

housing advice?

Hello,
I'm a 21 year old transfer student to UC Berkeley for this fall. I recently got my housing contract to live in freshman housing (I didn't get in for transfer housing), and am considering living at a co-op instead. I'm turning 22 in October and I am not sure if I would feel comfortable signing a one year contract to live in a freshman dorm. I can't cough up enough money to go visit so i'm kind of finding my way in the dark here.
Do any of you have any advice or opinions or personal experiences about freshman housing vs. co-op housing?
I'd really appreciate it!
