books for anthro of art

Hello fellow students,

I noticed that anthropology of art is one of the classes on the curriculum. I took it in spring 07, and still have some of the books. I am not the authority on which books are going to be used, but I'm sure there will be some overlaps. Email Mirka and ask her what books are on the syllabus for this term. I still have the Hundred Thousand Fools of God (with cd) in almost new condition. List price on amazon is about $30
and you can have my copy for $12. I also have Ghana's Concert Party Theater, which I will give you for $3.

First come, first serve. Really, email Mirka, she'll get back to you pretty quickly, (she did for me, at least, when I wanted to know what the books were), and then tell me if you want to get these books.

Also, I'd recommend trying to get a used copy of Calliope's Sisters if it's on the list - it's really expensive new - but I want to keep mine.

Anyway, get back to me. you'll save over $20, if you want both of them. I'll bring them to school with me in Feb and you can pick them up at my room.

Awesome FWT Resource, Yay! ^_^

Hello Bennies! For those of you who do not know me, my name is Nikki, and I am a former Bennington student.

If I remember correctly, this is around the time when people are knee-deep in Field Work Term prep. So I just wanted to inform anyone who does not have anything set up yet that www.collegehelpers.com is an amazing resource! It is a job search site specifically designed for undergraduate students. It is mostly part-time, entry level work and internships. However, if you have a lot of job experience and are looking for something with more responsibility, they have some of that too! It is just a bit hidden and you have to search for it, but definitely, pretty much every sort of job you can imagine is there. It also is very easily-searchable (more user-friendly than Monster I've found), and there is a handy-dandy place for you to post a blurb about yourself, your background and experience, what you're looking for, and then employers can contact YOU! It makes it so you have to do very little of the work, which I know with finals and everything can be a great relief.

So anyway yeah, I hope this is helpful to some of you at least, and good luck! (A note to freshies: it gets easier each year, I promise! ^_^)

Toodles!

<3 Nikki

Some quick questions about Bennington :)

I'm a senior in high school who wants to pursue International Relations in college. I've been looking at Bennington College and I really like it. Does Bennington have a strong International Relations program? How about Foreign Language? And study abroad?

Thank you for any input!!!

Who on campus has a pump for filling bike tires?

I've discovered that my poor bike has 2 flats after a summer of sitting in my basement. If you can help me out or you know someone who can, please comment.

Thanks!

Need an Office!

Help! I need an office to rent - small just for one person. I just need a solid data connection and a phone line.

Anyone have any ideas of who I might call or try?

Thanks so much in advance - if anyone gives me a lead that works out I will be your new best friend.
