Hello everyone! I'd love to see more involvement this week. And don't forget to vote!

Our Open Contest is inspired this week by one of my favorite poems:Pablo Neruda's "I Do Not Love You Except Because I Love You"

I do not love you except because I love you;
I go from loving to not loving you,
From waiting to not waiting for you
My heart moves from cold to fire.

I love you only because it's you the one I love;
I hate you deeply, and hating you
Bend to you, and the measure of my changing love for you
Is that I do not see you but love you blindly.

Maybe January light will consume

In this part of the story I am the one who

Because I love you, Love, in fire and blood.

Our Themed Contest is orchids. I have found two beautiful pictures, and you must use one of these pictures in your icon.

Both contests this week are still, and end 4/28.

Please use the following guidelines for submitting icons for both contests:
1. You may submit a maximum of two icons per contest.
2. When submitting icons, please specify which ones are for which contest.
3. Please submit your icons by posting both the images and the URLs.
4. All icons submitted must fit the livejournal size requirements: 100x100 px, 40KB, jpg/gif/png.
5. No animations are allowed unless specified for a particular contest.
6. Icons may be posted to other communities only after our contests are closed.

1. Votes are done through screened comments.
2. Everybody has THREE votes, and should vote in descending order of preference: your first place choice goes first, then second place, then third.

5. Pick the icon that you think is the best and deserves to win.

Our Open Contest this week is inspired by one of the most wonderful acts between lovers: the kiss. Isn't that beautiful?

The Themed Contest is a little more complicated this week: we're looking for text icons, incorporating lyrics from "Kiss Me" by Sixpence None the Richer. They can be animated or still, as you desire.

Hello all! Just a reminder that our first contests end Friday!

Hurrah! I hope everybody is looking forward to this as much as I am!

The inspiration piece for our first Open Contest is "Come Slowly" by Emily Dickinson:

Come slowly, Eden
Lips unused to thee.
Bashful, sip thy jasmines,
As the fainting bee,

The first theme for our Themed Contest is "rose red". That means that a red rose must somehow be used in the icon.
