We're back in China for a visit. Facebook is down here, LJ is up. We're leading a tour of 7 back to the mountain X.Y. grew up on. Lots of martial arts and visiting the temples. Should be great, especially for Maiya. After we leave the mountain, we'll be visiting X.Y.'s folks for a few weeks. We'll be back in the U.S. mid-August.
Finally, after two years of sickness, I finally have a diagnosis. The Functional Medicine doctor my PCP sent me to sent my lab work off to a place in California (iGENEx) that tests for all Lyme specific antibodies, not just the few measured by the standard CDC Western Blot. I lit that thing up like a Christmas tree. The earliest appointment I could get with my PCP is for a few months from now, but he's going to double book and see me in 2 weeks. Seems like there is some (potentially lots) of Doxycycline in my future.
For those of you who haven't been getting the updates, for the last 2+ years I've been having problems where my joints swell painfully, my hart-beat is irregular, I get dizzy, disoriented, occasionally pass out, and my already miserable memory is getting worse. But, at least it has a name now.
But why did I have to get an illness that's so f*cked up politically?!?

My 7th grade class has just learned all the relationship nouns. I want to have them make family trees. Anybody have any ideas on sites that can supply blank family trees or family tree generators that will be appropriate for all kinds of families (two Moms, no Moms, etc.)?
