With all the 80s trends coming back for the past few years (and probably a few more till the 90s resurge) there are a few toy franchises left out:
Hug-a-Bunch Glo-Worm Rose Petal Place Wuzzles Maple Town/Sylvanian Families Poochie
Of course for every one of these less-remembered toy fads, more have been revived or just never went away. (Rainbow Brite, My Little Pony, Strawberry Shortcake, Cabbage Patch Kids, etc) I have a lot of character pictures whose logo is missing and I can't remember what they're from. One day I'll get around to posting what I have and asking you all to help me ID them. :)
(Is it totally gross that some scratch & sniff stickers from 1983-1988 still smell?)
Wow, John Phillip Law passed away. He played in at least two MST3K movies, Diabolik and of course the infamous Space Mutiny. Plus, he was the dippy angel in Barbarella. RIP, you cheesy actor. (I mean that in a nice way, cheesy.)
OK, my period officially turns me into a horrible fire-beast. Next month when I'm on the placebo pill week, I'm going to take Benadryl to chill out. I'm dead serious - for whatever reason, this week I felt like I wasn't even in my own body and felt dysphoric like the worst PMS stereotype in the world. Some PMS medications already have antihistamines in them, so a small dose should help next time. Yikes. It also doesn't help that since the cyst happened in Nov/Dec it hurts and stabs to use the Keeper and I've had to use mostly pads. I hope I can go back to a cup soon, if not I may have to get a LunaPad.
Xena, Lyceus, and Dela go to the vet today! Yay! (Blah.) Dela's getting her vaccinations and I'm making her an appointment for periodic ear-cleaning as well. Xena & Lyceus are getting their annuals. Oh, and Dela's thyroid is fine. Her ear infections were just so bad that it made her all-around sick, poor baby. :( She's much better now, hence the planned ear-flushing to prevent this in the future.
Yesterday we filled a couple of old socks with loose catnip, and the cats are in love with their new toys. :)
Hi everyone who might actually read this after the dreadfully long time I haven't posted. LJ frontpage says it's been 14 weeks. I've been on LJ for about 6 years now, so why do they care?
So Heath Ledger is dead. So is Brad Renfro, and Suzanne Pleshette.
Suzanne Pleshette was 70, but that seems sorta weird, when you consider Jane Fonda, Morgan Freeman, and Jack Nicholson are also 70. She died of pulmonary issues, which is sad...I liked her a lot, and I actually remember watching that final episode of Newhart.
Brad Renfro is somehow not shocking but it's sad.
Heath Ledger reportedly was suffering from pneumonia, and was taking prescription sleeping pills. Either you shouldn't take those while ill with pneumonia, or perhaps he had an undiagnosed cardiac issue (I think everyone should get routine EKGs). Really really sad :(
Judie's mom ran out of diabetes meds and ended up with a heartstroke in ICU. she's okay and home now, but we are not exactly thrilled with her doctor's unresponsiveness to refilling her medication. Judie's trying to figure out what happened. scary stuff. she's coming to visit in a few months.
Xena (the cat) just laid on me in front of my face and I can't see the screeeeen! she's happy about this.
after a few weeks back pain and general discomfort, I had an ovarian cyst rupture again, on my left ovary. The hospital told me I have another one getting ready to rupture on the right one. They gave me heavy-duty painkillers.
I got my wisdom teeth out a couple of weeks ago. It was awesome. I had no sedation at all, just novocaine. The novocaine made my heart race, but that was the only scary part. After that, when they extracted my teeth, it was only a bit of pressure. I say getting them out was awesome because now I have no more wisdom-teeth-induced headaches.
eBay is beginning to pick up, a bit. the seller name is: barrudaki. (no period) it's Judie's account but she's letting me use it also.
