€37,712 has been raised, and the last donation was made 4 days ago! Please donate and share. Randa has raised funds to evacuate her family and we have achieved the goal, so she is extending a helping hand to her cousin, Maryuma, and her two young children, Rayan and Reem! They are in Khartoum, the capital, and they need to evacuate to Egypt!

This is a legitimate fundraiser via association. Randa's fundraiser has been shared by two sources: Jin (@/jinforjustice on IG), and @/northgazaupdates! You can read more about it here.

Welcome to a new attempt. I hope you’re not desperate because I’m still holding on to hope. I’m alive. Everyone knows me. I am a nursing student looking for money to secure the educational future at the university. I have a lot of problems. The most important of which is that my geographical location stole my life and made me ask for help in a way that I do not like or satisfy myself. I have obligations and I ask for help from friends. They don’t care. They care about people who call for mental illness and problems that I can’t do like them, so I personally ask you to stand with me if you get here with reading. I want to reach my goal in order to complete a future. Don’t hesitate to donate to me. I need your support.😭😭😭

Help me complete my dream of staying at the university and completing my education in nursing to help people and this is my goal 🙏🏻🙏🏻

202 / 250🙏🏻🙏🏻

Qusai Atef is vetted on our list at #381. Please help support his dream of working in the medical field so he can help others.

This is not Auschwitz. This is not Gaza. This is the West Bank, Palestine.

They are burning people's homes while families and children sleep inside, in violation of the Geneva Conventions and UN Security Council Resolution 242.

What is the fault of those who live simple lives and find themselves in a burning room? They are not wanted by the law; they are children who know nothing but play. What is their crime?

I am currently short of funds to treat my daughter Salma, who suffers from severe anemia. Her treatment is very expensive, and she needs care. All of this requires your donation to save Salma from her illness. Donate or share this post.

it is kinda baffling to me the number of times i've met an american tgirl and went hours chatting without her asking a single question about where i live. why do i need to entertain your take on the hierarchy between in-n-out vs five guys vs wendy's or whether the deli in your state's biggest grocery store chain is better than your ex's state, if you aren't gonna like, make a single comment about the island i grew up in, after i spell it out for you and link the wikipedia page, after i explain a little of how distinct it is from são paulo (most populous city in the western hemisphere, never heard of it, not interested in learning) and the gay scene there, how DIY works in my country, cause you'd rather go back to arguing about whether chicago is better than seattle or how distinct east coast trannies are from west coast trannies (exactly the same). extremely impressionable, piss poor conversationalists. happy 4th of july

this post keeps getting notes from people missing the forest for the trees. i don't want you to ask me those questions, those are just examples. i am not asking you, american reader, to be performatively friendly towards random foreigners you encounter online (e.g. me). more pertinently, leaving a comment/tag on someone's post you've never interacted with before is not the dynamic i am describing, it is not an earnest attempt at getting to know someone, and i have no incentive to respond.

i am asking you to think about how to have a conversation with someone you *actually* want to converse with, how to indulge a non-american on subjects that aren't premised on in-depth knowledge of your country and allow room for personal opinion. i am suggesting that if you find yourself regularly in touch with someone from e.g. Santiago, and you choose to pursue friendship with that person, you are able to do a cursory amount of research on your own to reciprocate the questions they're asking you about e.g. life in Olympia; that you demonstrate a degree of actual investment in their perspective, you know, the way you would talk to a real person, without explicitly reducing them to just a Chilean or someone slightly more ignorant about the PNW's music scene than your average American—which makes you seem interesting and thoughtful in turn, and makes them more likely to want to talk to you more often.

every single non-american, and specially ESL speakers, put a ton of effort into learning about shit no one outside of the US has any reason to care about, solely because existing in online anglophone spaces means interacting with americans, and if you are actively pursuing friendship with one such person you should at least try to match their investment.

that's the thing that bothers me. ime americans broadly excel at acting friendly—they are disproportionately bad at keeping a conversation going unless it revolves around their culture, and it makes it so that i very rarely meet an american i wanna talk to more than once a week

Anonymous asked:

why is the two wolves meme anti-indiginous?

It’s based on a story that is falsely attributed to Natives, usually but not always the Cherokee. It’s a settlers’ approximation of how we talk and what we believe. To parrot that phrasing uncritically is pretty anti-indigenous, and the fact that it’s so commonplace is indicative of how little thought it given to the mockery of Indigenous spirituality and how frequently it’s appropriated

It wasn't easy for me to say this because I'm a girl and it's a sensitive thing for us but it started affecting me and causing uterine diseases & infections...I suffered greatly from using pieces of cloth instead of sanitary pads, but I never imagined the damage would be so severe. Please, I am a girl in need of your help.
