Molton Brown
Molton Brown - Vitamin Lipsaver
I got this in a sample size and I am amazed by it. Over the last few days I have had an old cold and my lips have been really cracked and really dry so I decided to give this a go and I was pleasantly surprised. It's a clear solution is very thick, a lot like Vaseline but thicker. A tiny bit goes a long way. I started to use it last night and when I woke up my lips weren't as dry, I think it could have worked better but because my nose is constantly running I feel I'm wiping it off when I am wiping my nose. I would recommend this product and I would even splash out the cash to buy it in full size.
Molton Brown - Moisture Lock, 24 hr replenisher
I don't have a picture
Again, I got this as a sample size and I have been using it to moisturise my nose since having a cold. I'm not overly joyed by it, I can see a slight improvement but not much. Having said that I think this may also be being wiped off whenever I attend to my running nose. I think I'll see if I can get another sample of this to try at a later date to see if there is other effects other than my nose.
Tip 2!
1. place a thick layer of translucent powder onto the your cheeks to catch the fall then brush away when finished.
2. make up your eyes BEFORE you do your foundation.
Tip #1
when choosing a foundation you should do the stripe test
select the foundations you want to try
place a stripe of each colour side by side on your cheek going from the middle of your cheek to your jawline
pat the stripes with your finger and leave it for 30 secs while the colour develops on your skin
the colour that most matches the shade on your neck area is the one to choose
see, I learnt something ;)
Aveda Shower Gel
Hi one and all, sorry I haven't been here as I have been moving from Scotland to England this week for a little while. When I got here I found out that I can only get the net in certain areas of the house so I'm currently perched in the kitchen with a little signal. Anyway:
Aveda Energizing All Over Body Cleanser

It's basically a posh sounding shower gel and it is heavenly. It has a minty smell which is good for waking you up in the morning, although for some reason I chose to use it tonight instead. DUH!! It has a slight creamy texture to it but it isn't too thick, still have a nice consistency. I have it in a travel/sample size but I would probably shell out the cash for a full size.
Hope you guys are having fun trying out various stuff. Tomorrow I start my Make Up Artist course so will probably pick lots of hints and tips to share. Wish me luck!!

Now, I know we all love hearing testimonials as well, so I can vouch for a few of these products.
Bare Escentuals ANYTHING is amazing. I haven't tried a product of theirs yet that I didn't like.
Urban Decay's Eyeshadow Primer is the best. I love it. It really allows your eyeshadow to stand out to it's full potential.
Ojon hair products are also amazing. Their hairspray gives great lift and doesn't leave that tacky stiff feeling that a lot of hairsprays leave, and all their products are all natural.
Philosophy is another one of my favorite brands. My favorite thing of theirs is the body was line. They have so many different scents that smell like real food, the bottles are really cute with little philosophies written on them, and they really do a great job cleansing and moisturizing. They also make a great bubble bath. My favorite scents/flavors (because they really smell eddible) are Pumpkin Spice, Cocoa, Cinnamon Buns, and Be A Peach. For the last couple of nights I've been trying:
Molton Brown - Yuan Zhi Pluse Point Balm

relaxing yuan zhi pulse point balm - massage onto inner wrists, behind ears and temples
sorry the pic is poo! my camera died.
I thought this would be good for making me feel relaxed so I can drift off into a nice sleep. To be honest I have no idea if it is working or not, I find I still have to put my ipod on for me to drift off to sleep. I do feel like it's doing something but not too sure what.
Please help me get a good nights sleep!!!

Sleek and Chic Blowdry Cream
Yesterday I got ALL my hair cut off, yup, I only have about an inch left of it on my head, if even that. It's so much easier to do as all I have to do is use a little wax and all done. At the minute I don't have any wax so I used this cream. Surpisingly it worked a treat. It's a little liquidy so you have to be careful it doesn't spill out your hand but it does that job! Smells yum and doesn't make your hands sticky. You're supposed to put it onto hair before you blowdry it so it protects the hair and helps style the hair. Fortuneately I don't have to blowdry anymore so I whacked it on to style it instead. Lovely.
Bedtime!
Beautiful Hair
How to achieve and maintain a healthy head of beautiful hair. Hair SOS
Three main things are needed for a good-looking head of hair - haute hair - good health, the right attention to cleanliness, and caution when using cosmetic treatments.
1. Adequate Diet
Hair growth depends on an adequate diet. A widespread diet problem which causes loss of hair is iron deficiency Anaemia. The cause is too little iron in blood, brought on by a diet containing too little meat, eggs, cereals or peas and beans. Fresh fruits and vegetables are also needed to provide vitamin C, which enables the body to absorb iron.
2. Cutting the hair
Although cutting the hair is not essential to its well-being, it is easier to keep the scalp clean if the hair is kept reasonably short. Regular cutting does not make the hair grow strong or faster.
3. How hair can be damaged
Although scalp hair is hardy, and can withstand a lot of abuse, it can be damaged by too much or inexpertly applied perming, dyeing - Blonde to Brunette, bleaching and massage. The amount of beautying the hair can take varies from person to person. Occasionally the scalp is allergic to the dye and becomes inflamed and swollen. To prevent this occuring, the dye should be tested by applying it to a small area on the arm. If a patch of inflammation has developed, the dye must not be used on the hair.
Most people who bleach their hair do so with hydrogen peroxide. If the peroxide is repeatedly applied, it may make the hair brittle. Hair SOS If this happens the hair may turn rough, develop split ends, or become thinned or shortened.

When we were struggling through those awkward teenage years, when our hormones were wreaking havoc on our bodies and our skin, we were most likely inundated by advice from our mothers and grandmothers, and even our girlfriends, on what we should do to keep ourselves beautiful despite the storm of changes upon us and upon our bodies. Some of them sound sensible, while some sound totally absurd.
But even if these pieces of advice sound really silly, there are some of them that we could not easily shake off. They seem to work for us, and why let go of a good thing if it is working somewhat?
Nonetheless, for curiositys sake, sometimes there is a need to ask. Do the beauty practices handed down to us by our mothers, grandmothers and girlfriends that we have religiously observed through the years hold a grain of scientific truth in them, or are they merely beauty myths spun by old wives? Lets find out.
Beauty Myth #1: Plucking white hairs yields more white hairs.
This is definitely just a beauty myth. Our hair whitens as part of the natural process of aging, and some of us see our hair start turning white earlier than usual compared to others. It only seems to us that we are having more and more gray hair after we see our first strand of white because our mind is now trained to look for the grays in our mane, and so we are now more likely to notice.
Beauty Myth #2: Shaving the hair makes it grow back thicker.
This is definitely another beauty myth as well. Shaved hair seems to grow back thicker only because when we shave, the razor cuts the hair off only on the skins surface. They were not plucked off directly from the follicle. Therefore, when the hair grows back, the wide part of the strand grows out, making the hair appear thicker.
Beauty Myth #3: Mayonnaise makes for a great conditioner.
No, this one is not a myth. Mayonnaise, as long as it is real, does make for a great hair conditioner. The oil and eggs that can be found in real mayonnaise is rich in fatty acids and protein that nourishes the hair.
Beauty Myth #4: Applying ice to the skin makes the pores smaller.
Nothing can make the pores smaller. The size of our pores is the result of genetics, not of temperature applied on the skin, so some people just have smaller pores than others.
Beauty Myth #5: Toothpaste can cure pimples
Well, yes. Toothpaste has menthol and other active ingredients that can dry up a pimple and make it heal much quickly than if left alone. However, the same active ingredients in toothpaste that can heal a pimple can also dry up and irritate the skin of your face, so it is better to use a pimple cream rather than toothpaste for your pimple.
Beauty Myth #6: Applying beer on the skin before going for a sun tan results in a golden glow.
No, not true. In fact, you should avoid sun tanning altogether, unless you are going to use a self-tanner. Applying beer before going for a tan does not do anything for the skin. Some people are just prone to getting a golden tan, while others naturally turn red as a lobster under the sun. It is, again, a matter of genetics.
Beauty Myth #7: Crossing the legs leads to varicose veins.
Not really. The true causes of varicose veins are yet unknown, but again, some people are more prone to having them because of factors like heredity, age and weight. Crossing the legs will not cause you to have varicose veins, but if you already have them, it can make the condition worse.
Beauty Myth #8: Washing the feet when tired will make the veins swell.
The veins in the feet really swell when the feet are tired. It is the bodys own automatic attempt to soothe the tiredness of the feet. In fact, it is indeed best to soak the feet in warm water to further increase the blood circulation to your lower extremities, so as to take the tiredness away.
