Sid Vaga & Herald


French natives Sid Vaga & Herald are now located on two different continents, Sid in New York City and Herald in Paris, but their ambition, creativity and musical soul still very much comes from the same place. The duo originally connected through Herald’s proposal to remix Sid’s track ‘Sereias’ on Brooklyn based Wonderwheel Records. A few months later, Sid remixed Herald’s ‘Eartha’ on the French label Laboratory, and it soon became clear these two artists were a pretty good match. The strength in their fusion lies in their individual backgrounds, as they each bring valuable experience and inspiration to every project, and that’s what led to their rst big collaboration project. ‘Be As One’ featuring vocals by Roy Davis Jr., was signed to pristine electronic music label, Kling Klong Records (Berlin), and remixed by Toronto’s Nathan Barato (Hot Creations). That release turned some pretty big heads their way with support coming from the likes of Monika Kruse, Riva Starr, Josh Butler, Mat Joe to name but a few, and the list of high profile supporters is building rapidly. 2019 started with Sid and Herald’s ‘It’s On’ release on Great Stuff Recording’s and more recently the duo’s brilliant ‘Journey’, a collaboration with legendary Roland Clark, found a home on My Favourite Freaks. New releases are being prepared as 2019 come to a close, setting them up nicely for 2020, not least the red hot limited white label 12”s that are being put into play just as the winter takes hold and drives people inside to get warm to the sound of repetitive beats and flashing lights. And here, in all the dark and loud underground clubs where the freaks come out to party, this is where you will find Sid Vaga & Herald: Behind the decks or just their sound tirelessly streaming out of the speakers, like a hammer to the head, or like balm to the soul.
