In 2023, Sam Sonder and Robby Powell united as MIDLIFE, bringing together their vast experiences, distinctive sounds, and shared passion for house music, pushing boundaries and creating unforgettable experiences on dance floors. Sam Sonder’s journey began in the mid-90s, shaped by the vibrant house scene in San Francisco. What started as a deep passion quickly became a relentless pursuit, leading Sam to immerse himself in the craft and develop a unique sound blending House, Tech House, Minimal Deep Tech, and Deep House. His music caught the attention of Toolroom Records, where he was featured in their acclaimed Leaders Of The New School series, spotlighted in DJ Mag. His music has been supported by major artists like Mark Knight, John Summit, David Guetta, and Wh0. Robby Powell re-entered the DJ scene in 2011 after countless nights at Las Vegas's legendary Drais After Hours, quickly earning a residency that allowed him to refine his distinctive house and tech house style. In 2017, he became the Music Director and resident DJ at Club Ego Afterhours, playing a key role in establishing the venue as Las Vegas's premier after-hours destination. Trained by the Toolroom Academy, Expansive Academy, and under Lee Foss, his individual releases, including "No Sleep with The Frenchies," showcase his refined production skills. Sam and Robby have held residencies at top venues, sharing stages with industry giants like Lee Foss, Bhaskar, George Fitzgerald, KC Lights, Marco Lys, Tube & Berger, Annabelle Englund, Nicole Moudaber, Leftwing:Kody, Dusky, Gene Farris, Technasia, Steve Lawler, Anthony Attalla, Detlef and more. They have performed across major cities like Las Vegas, Los Angeles, NYC, Miami, San Francisco, Washington DC and Chicago.
