Carlos Mantilla is a producer and DJ with a rich and multicultural life story, deeply connected to his hometown of Albufeira, a picturesque seaside city in the Algarve, southern Portugal. Known for its stunning beaches and vibrant atmosphere, Albufeira played an essential role in shaping Carlos's early musical journey, providing the backdrop for his first performances at local parties and clubs. Born to a Spanish mother and a Portuguese father, Carlos lived in Albufeira until the age of two, when his family moved to the Congo in Africa. He lived there until he was 13, absorbing a wide range of cultural and musical influences. Carlos's music career began in the early 2000s while he was still in secondary school, playing at local events in Albufeira. In 2002, he ventured to Valencia, Spain, where he became a resident DJ at a nightclub on Gandia Beach. Immersed in the global music scene, he began exploring music production, creating his first grooves and beats. In 2007, Carlos moved to Seville, where he continued as a resident DJ in a local club. Surrounded by the city's underground scene, he refined his style and developed an even more authentic approach to music. By 2009, he returned permanently to Albufeira and shifted his focus entirely to production, founding his own label and releasing his work independently, valuing his creative freedom. In 2012, he joined the local Radio Solar with a weekly program that became a major success, bringing greater attention to both the station and his work. This renewed his passion for DJing, and he began performing again at local events. Today, Carlos maintains his studio in Albufeira, producing music and sharing monthly sets through his podcast, "Bon Voyage", available on SoundCloud. Carlos Mantilla's music is characterized by his love for sampling, classic house, jackin house, and lo-fi house. Drawing inspiration from soul, jazz, funk, blues, and all things with rhythm and groove, his productions reflect the multicultural influences of his life.
