Sound — an illumination in the space of silence — organized into music: the divine ordering of frequencies, remarkably analogous to the constellations of the skies. The seven bright stars of Ursa Major, an asterism sometimes universally known by its old Finnish name, Otava, a central motif in the symphony of the northern sky, an interstellar melody composed across generations and rooted in ancient Nordic mythology. Otto Norvio, also known as OTAVA, growing up in Helsinki, Finland, felt the pull of the infinite depths of the night sky, an endless source of inspiration, veiled in the patterns mapped in stars. The same sense of depth and space now lives in OTAVA’s progressive melodies and ethereal soundscapes.
