Jean Bruce

Originally from the south of France, Jean Bruce fell in love with electronic music in the mid-80s. Heavily influenced by European sounds such as EBM, New Beat, Cold Wave, and Breakbeat, as well as American sounds like Electro, Acid House, and Techno, he always gives these sounds an 80s and 90s touch. Beginning his compositions in the 1990s, Jean Bruce has collaborated and released records alongside international artists such as Mark Archer (Altern 8), SA42, Olivier Abbeloos (T99/Quadrophonia), Minimum Syndicat, Woody McBride, David Carretta, Slipmatt, Ethan Fawkes, Dalcan, Jacidorex, Umwelt, Millimetric, Orlando Voorn, and D-Shake. Jean has run the Nocturbulous Records label since 2005 and is also known for his interviews with pioneers of House and Techno music. He wrote a book about New Beat in 2025.
