There are DJs, and then there’s SPFDJ. With an inimitable style, fearless attitude, magnetic energy, and a smooth dichotomy between the badass and softer sides to her artistry, aka “Tendercore”, the Amsterdam-based artist has evolved from the grassroots scenes of London and Berlin to a globally established talent and trailblazer over the past decade. SPFDJ launched into the scene on the wave of Herrensauna quickly becoming a resident while empowering and transforming Berlin’s queer scene while catapulting her into the techno world with the freedom to explore disparate musical moods in a fertile and (not quite) fucks-free environment. 2025 marks the debut of SPFDJ’s EP Heel Thyself via her label Intrepid Skin. Dropping in November, the release nods to overcoming challenges in the creative process, including overthinking, while healing herself along the way. Over the years Intrepid Skin has showcased her curatorial talents and ability to incubate for fearless expression in all its forms, neatly blending releases from up VTSS, Nene H, Marcus L, MarcelDune, Valerie Ace and more. SPFDJ recently launched her own worldwide event series, Motherlode, and has held residencies at both NTS, Rinse FM, and already hit landmarks such as the prestigious BBC Radio 1 Essential mix, while headlining international gigs and festivals affirming her universal appeal.
