XZMPT

XZMPT is the DJ name of Tim James, a house music producer and DJ from Hull, UK. His musical career started at an early age when he studied classical piano as a kid, going on to have a successful career in the pop industry, playing keyboards in bands and theatre shows; also doing production, live sound and recording. His love of house music drew him eventually into the dance music scene, and he now runs a studio in Hull and a record label called ‘Only The Finest.’ As well as releases in his own name, he has a few remixes on the go and is also one half of a house music duo called ‘NorthSouthDivide.’ His music style is mostly funky disco house, but the name XZMPT (pronounced Exempt) is intended to represent a freedom from boundaries of genre, so expect a few surprises in every XZMPT set! XZMPT is a resident at The Old School House in Hull, but has also played in Ibiza, Germany, Croatia and all across the UK.
