Tollgate Shindigs

UK based producer Tollgate Shindigs first fell in love with dance music in the early 90’s at the age of 14 where he would borrow his older brothers tape packs from Hardcore events such as Dreamscape and Fantazia. At 16 he got his hands on his first pair of decks and started hosting local parties with childhood mates he grew up with in his home town on Tollgate Road. The nights very quickly gathered momentum which led to a residency at a nightclub in Coventry called Crazy Daisies before he and his mates started there own nights called Nocturnal Combustion in the early 2000’s. These nights saw the likes of Bryan Gee, Andy C, SS, Bad Company, Ed Rush, GQ and Flux, to name a few, pass through the doors. It was around this time that the sounds coming out of the ‘golden era’ in the early 2000’s inspired him to go to Music Tech college. His biggest influences in production remain from this era in the shape of Virus, Renegade Hardware, Ram Records. Apart from Hardcore, Jungle and Drum & Bass he is a huge old school hip hop fan and has recently been working on music with very talented vocalists from this genre. The future is bright for Tollgate Shindigs. After his second release on Root97 Records he has lots more in the pipeline.
