The Magic

The Magic (Magellaan D.), born at Oudenaarde, Jan 2th 1972. As many in these years, the Amiga with “fasttracker”, was something unique to make music on, this leaded to house numbers that many people liked a lot. Even great DJ's enjoyed it to play this in disco's and also on radio stations. So I decided to build my own studio, together with a friend, Marco Deruyck. A first number “ ALPHA DIAL – Amor ' came out very quickly. After many demo's, we encountered that a lot of our good ideas vanished in the hands of other record labels. This caused a lot of frustrations, because many of our good ideas were ‘stolen' and became afterwards hits for them. With another friend of me , Emiliaz , a created a very nice number, that was on the right road to find it's way into the business world, namely “ F.N.X. – Believe ”. Many people liked this very much, just after the famous New Beat period. Next, “Asterix in cowboyland” came out: something funny that was a real success, but it wasn't danceable enough. “ HUMAN REFLECTIONS – Because ” was next, made together with a friend from Ghent, on the “Dance opera compilation-period” . Why this number wasn't ever released on vinyl, I really don't know and that's always been a great question to me. After a “dark and black” period in my life (about the age of 27-28 years), I decided to go my own way. These days, a was a D.J. and I knew I was good in it, but I was more interested to make music myself. Next, “DISCO SHOOS – Freedom” showed up, inspired on the atmosphere at the local dancing's in the weekend, namely the disco H2o… “SUPERWAX e.p.(GROOVY PARTS)” also came out these days. Why the remix "open your eyes – h2o" never did came out? I learned to know the bosses from H2o: this motivated me to go on, because of the good reactions. The “MAG 's ” came out, because many good friends told me: “ launch this, this is really good trance”. And indeed, many articles were published in magazines and where spotted in the playlists. But the years passed away, I never leaved the music sphere, everything I did was to set out the right road in my life. Seen afterwards, I was a little bit stupid I think by myself: such a nice hobby I left away… I will turn back My nickname is Magic, so the following will be “THE MAGIC”
