Modern Lover

Modern Lover, the brainchild of Makayla Meador, was developed in an effort to embody the most joyous version of herself and to cultivate a musical landscape where others can do the same. Between her vintage aesthetic and obsession with present-day club culture, Modern Lover skillfully combines her dreamy vocals with pumping four on the floor bass lines to move dance floors across the country and beyond. Taking cues from Disclosure, Sylvan Esso, and Soulwax, Modern Lover’s productions and DJ sets showcase her undying passion for dance music, eclectic taste, and undeniable technical ability. While only in her first year since inception, Modern Lover has already released on respected labels Country Club Disco, Play Me, Spinnin Deep and joined Duskus on his USA tour.
