Hein Schultz

Hein Schultz got introduced to Trance music in 2000, and absolutely fell in love with the genre. With appreciation for dance music in the range of Uplifting, Hard Trance and even the more commercial euro radio sound of the time, he recorded music from weekend night-time radio shows, and started his craft by simply wanting to get a continuous mix of these tracks and got to work learning to do this on the digital platform. Going on the journey from mixing on a computer, through vinyls, and on CDJ's, this versatile dj can pickup on anything at any time. Initially dj'ing under the alias of IcarusDJ saw him spinning vinyl around some of the top South African clubs and a lot of private parties for 4 years. After a brief hiatus he made his return to the scene in 2011, and started a weekly mix programme called "Mid-Week 10" in 2013. A simple unscripted mix of the top 10 track he found that week. It was at this point, still under the IcarusDJ name, when he started to mess around with mashups and reconstructions. While fun, it still wasn't satisfying, as the real dream was producing originals. After completing a production course with a local South African, he got to working on his skills. He created a few tracks over time, each one better than the one before. Keeping on grinding an learning. His first release finally came in 2023 on the We Are Trance label. There has since been multiple releases, including remixes by big names such as Pierre Pienaar and Corrie Theron amongst others. ~Enjoy Responsibly!
