Prox
Ash Smith, known as Prox, is a longstanding British Producer/DJ who currently resides in Charlotte, NC, USA where he continues
to hone his incredibly talented production skills.
Coming from a small town in Greater Manchester named Wigan, Prox spent his early childhood listening to his older brother’s
Trance/UK Dance CD’s. Throughout High School he could usually be found in the music room fiddling around in Cubase, and
when at home, practicing on his set of Technics 1210s.
Shortly after playing his first Hard Dance club at 16, he met Daniel Kandi whilst playing Online Pool. The two got chatting about
Trance music which then inspired Prox to embark on his journey learning how to produce Trance.
Introduced as "One of the most exciting talents out there" by Armin van Buuren, Prox has created a unique balance between
classic and modern sounds.
Prox entered into 2021 with 'Space Tonic', his collaboration with Daniel Kandi which was included on Armada Music's 'Trance
Top 100 Summer 2021'.
Starting 2022 with a bang and being included on the 'FSOE Best of May' Compilation, Prox released 'Dreamer' on FSOE, which
was quickly picked up by Ruben de Ronde for ASOT & John Askew for his sets in Argentina & Mexico.
‘Wiggo’ was his first release as Prox on Always Alive Recordings. He has already received support from high profile names such
as Armin van Buuren & Ruben de Ronde, Aly & Fila, Daniel Kandi, Markus Schulz, Lange, Giuseppe Ottaviani, Andrew Rayel, John
