The newest artist signing to Patrick Toppings legendary Trick label, Matt Hibbert is looking to follow in the footsteps of previous Trick alumni Ewan McVicar, Hannah Laing & Ben Hemsley, after a breakout year in 2024. Hailing from Birkenhead, Merseyside, with music hotbed Liverpool just a short ferry across the Mersey away, he has built a reputation in the famous city with his groovy, high energy DJ sets at the legendary city centre club Baa Bar. Matts debut track on Trick, ‘Move Ya Waistline’, became a staple part of label boss Patrick Toppings sets and quickly turned into one of his biggest and most requested IDs ever, subsequently hitting the coveted Beatport number one slot upon release. It became one of the tracks of summer 2024 with heavy support from John Summit, Claptone, Mistajam, Patrick Topping and many more. This led to Matt making his Trick artist debut at Trick Tenerife 2024, playing 3 sets over the weekend, culminating in being invited to close the festival at Papagayo with a b2b with Patrick Topping himself. 2025 saw Matt make his mainstage festival debut at Creamfields, playing to over 5,000 people on the Halo stage before Ewan Mcvicar. 2026 sees him return to Trick with two huge tracks, 'Las Chicas' and 'Rootin Tootin', which have been hammered by the likes of Jamie Jones, Patrick Topping, Joseph Capriati, The Martniez Bros, Joshwa & Solardo, and are set for release this summer just in time for festival and Ibiza season respectively. With continued support from huge artists, 2026 is continuing to to be another big year for Matt, who has been christened by some clubbers in Liverpool as the ‘Birkenhead Ben Hemsley’, no pressure then!
