Jose Saavedra

Liverpool-based DJ and producer Jose Saavedra's passion for House music began in 1987 at just 11 years old when he bought his first 12-inch record, House Arrest by Krush. By the early '90s, he was fully immersed in the UK rave scene, attending iconic events such as Dreamscape, Helter Skelter and United Dance, experiences that helped shape the sound and energy that define his music today. He soon moved into DJing, performing across London, the South East and internationally, building a reputation for energetic, crowd-focused sets. Jose has appeared at renowned venues including Fire & Lightbox and 93 Feet East in London, as well as major events such as Clockstock Festival and international appearances in Ibiza and Poland. During the 2020 lockdown, Jose turned his focus to music production, developing a style that blends House and Tech House with Old Skool influences and uplifting Vocal Funky House elements. His debut release, Tides (2022), reached #71 in the Beatport Funky House Top 100, and since then he has amassed almost 50 releases across respected labels including Cleveland City, Toolbox House, WyldCard Records, Whore House Records, World Sound, Big Speaker Music and House Me Up Records. Several of his productions have charted in the Beatport Hype Top 100 and received support from DJs including Slipmatt and Jon Pleased Wimmin, alongside airplay on numerous radio stations and features on BBC Introducing. Away from the studio and the club, Jose hosts a weekly House and Tech House show on Shine 879 DAB every Wednesday from 10pm to midnight, showcasing the latest underground and upfront releases.
