Hi guys. I'm new here, but I wanted to put in a good word for Andi Starr. She is an amazing musician, not to mention one of the kindest and most "real" people I've ever known! Her style is fairly eclectic, but probably best described as ethereal rock. Her voice and music are quite unique, though it has been described as "hauntingly beautiful", and at times compared to Tori Amos, Shawn Colvin, The Cowboy Junkies, and The Cranberries. She just released her 4th album, "Leaving the White Line", which is currently available at CD Baby. For those in the Portland, Oregon area, there is a CD release party coming up on Januray 26th. It's $10 in advance or $12 at the door, with the album included in the price of entry, and cellist Adam Hurst opening the show. Please, do yourself a favor and listen to the amazingly beautiful music of Andi Starr, which will touch your soul and open your heart. x-posted everywhere
Greetings music lovers! I would like to pass along a Modern Rock Band I play with called StillLine. The music is all original, so any thoughts or comments would be appreciated. If yah like what you hear, spread the word!
Hello! I'm new to LiveJournal and am looking to meet people who are interested in ambient, trip-hop, and sonic music and it looks like I might have! I'm from the Detroit, MI area. We did have a radio station that played this music on a show called Big Sonic Heaven, only the station had been converted to a teen-pop format and dies real quick. Ever listen to Auralgasms online?
I've gone through many different LJ names since last posting.. but I wanted to write everyone still in this community, and say thanks for the support of our music. It is much appreciated.
Hope everyone is doing well. Comment back. share some new good tunes you guys and girls have discovered, or a movie we may not have heard of that we should. :)
Hey all!! Just popping in to say that I've been listening to my Beauty's Confusion CD for the past week or so and it is just SPECTACULAR!!!!! It's my perfect ideal of what a trip-hop album should be: the perfect marriage of loping, discordant breakbeats and electronic discordia, all of it tamed by a woman's sometimes haunting, often enchanting, and always dreamy vocals that ride the downtempo with absolute skill and grace, a beacon that you can feel pierce you to the very core and beyond when you close your eyes. Breathe In is a work of art, and I sincererly hope it isn't the last one; even if producing another album took years to perfect, I'd still think it was worth the wait. =)
Im doing this art project based on a musical genre and we have to do a mood painting, im doing trip hop, i was wondering if u guys could recommens some CDs. and another dumb question, what would soulstice be considered as? thanks
