Aren't you fed-up with garbage, full-of-shit sites where nobody actually communicates, such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and Twitter? Do you wish your old friends who've migrated to those sites would return to LiveJournal? The the_lj_revival community has been set up with that aim in mind, and you are invited to join it. If you are already on LiveJournal and still have a Facebook profile, and would like to see more people returning to LJ or setting up accounts here, we invite you to post a link to this community on your Facebook Timeline. If you would like to find out who is still using LiveJournal and make contact with those who are already here, you are invited to copy and paste the 'about me' questions on the profile page and post them with your answers to the community.

Well, enjoy. It's a bigger package this time. If you have comments, i'd appreciate ones about specific pieces, if you could. You don't have to comment on all of them, just a few you liked, and why, or why not. Thank you.

The Bullshit Membrane of Insecurity

This is a piece i drew from a photo online, the girl was actually smirking in the photo, but the pose itself had this tragic quality to it. 2 of the main influences for the direction i went with this were George Carlin's ability to collect common sayings, and Ani DiFranco's song "Present/Infant" off her new album, "Red Letter Year", specifically the line, "Don't let the sellers of stuff power enough to rob you of your grace."

And so, i decided to collect as many of those advertising questions aimed at women, specifically designed to make them feel insecure about all sorts of different aspects of herself, just to make her feel like she has to buy bullshit, the temporary cures, and keep buying them, "making insecurity into a full-time job"(Ani), which enrages me SO much, because everyone is beautiful NATURALLY. They only become ugly when they introduce fakeness!

Anyway, here's the piece i made, and i post it separately because i believe it should be viewed without the distraction of my other recent pieces (man, i sound conceited, but i just received such a powerful response from this elsewhere, and i wanted to present it properly):

New batch of Drawings

I must apologize beforehand if any of these seem lower quality images.
See, my scanner broke, and i've had to take all these ones with my digital camera, and edit the crap out of the light and contrast just to get them looking somewhat similar to what they actually look like. So, beyond that, enjoy ...

Shock (from Nightmare Before Christmas), Grown Up

And curvy!

As I mentioned in my intro post, my version of Shock grows up to be a zaftig girl. Now, I have other canon characters from other fandoms (Harry Potter, for example) that are also curvy ladies, but I haven't been drawing curvy ladies very long, and I no longer have access to a scanner.

Shock, when the story opens, is not very happy with her curves. Hence the sneer:

However, as the story progresses, and she learns (through love, how else!) that yes, you don't have to be as emaciated as a ghost to be pretty, she gets a lot more...well look:

Yes, that's a swimsuit.

As a point of some interest, Narcissa Malfoy is a curvy lady in my fanfic as well--and with the encouragement of my ladywyfe, I've almost wholly designed the Wizarding fashion industry around the female physical ideal of the willendorf venus (Well, they are wizards and witches, right? And fertility goddesses are always fat. That's my reasoning for the thinsnobs). I'm pleased. Character design for the female models is still ongoing, as I learned to draw from books, and there are no drawing books that help with fat >:/ That displeases me.
