I went to hospital for the CT scan, and everything was going well...until I was asked for $68.50 up front (what medicare doesn't pay). I didn't have it, and asked about being billed and paying in increments--but no, got the lecture about hospitals having to close if they aren't paid in full when they need it.
Then one nice person took me to an office and gave me a form to take home and mail back in to see if I qualified for some program that would let me have services there for 6 months. So, CT scan postponed.
However, I did have blood drawn (a lot of blood drawn, for mega evals). I'm glad I got that over with, anyway.
The fringe of Ike is headed our way--the "dirty", as they call it, part. TV is forecasting winds up to 70 m.p.h., power outages, tornadoes, flooding, etc.
Since this storm is MUCH bigger than Gustav, and since I've made no preparations at all, I don't think I'll get off scot free this time.
I got my CD of Saturday Night Fever today! (Once upon a time I had the album, but years, lovers, and moves caused the loss of it).
I'd forgotten how much I loved that soundtrack. Nonie bird and I sang and chirped and danced our way through it. What fun! (Beird, being much more sedate, merely watched us).
It seems that some on my flist cannot understand why I am not voting in this Presidential election. Though I have tried to explain some of my reasons, they still cannot comprehend why I cannot bring myself to vote for either candidate. So, I am going to explain this in the simplest terms I know how:
