  1. Journey to Voltus B LP
    by HENGE
    supported by
    Gleanie thumbnail
Gleanie I think this is Henge at their most focused and polished. The album structure is clear and compelling, the distribution of cartoonishness/chiptune and spacy psychedelia across the runtime feels perfect, and even the songs themselves feel more straightforward than before, without giving up any of their complexity, zaniness, or creativity.
Really Slingshot is the only song that feels like a standalone pop tune, everything else seems to serve the overall album experience - and they do it well! Favorite track: Ascending.
    PIDGE thumbnail
PIDGE This album seems a little more grounded than previous albums. Less goofy and more interesting space rock. I’m a fan if they keep this up. Similar to Tong. Favorite track: Hypersleep.
    sambridgett thumbnail
sambridgett My friend (who has music on Bandcamp himself incidentally, check out Harrowman) kept bugging me to listen to Henge and I didn't really pay any attention but bought him and me gig tickets for his birthday.

Turns out he knew what he was on about. Favorite track: Slingshot.

DAS VILLAIN Sunn O))) knows intensity, ethereal,, and vulnerability where there latest release is exercises in all of the above. Another stellar and angular release! Favorite track: Does Anyone Hear Like Venom?.
    vegamorph thumbnail
vegamorph I love the recorded power of this album, capturing the bubbling and spitting distortion on top of those massive, rumbling drops. Its unbelievably epic in nature.
Sunn 0))) is like planets colliding, especially XXANN. Maximum volume truly does achieves maximum results. Favorite track: XXANN.

seanmcg_ Really cool heavy post rock, drums are amazing. Favorite track: Verses.
    J. Wright Reviews thumbnail
    J. Wright Reviews I first discovered Russian Circles in 2020, through this album. Now, with the anniversary sale, I knew I had to grab a CD copy! This album has the absolute perfect blend of heaviness, atmosphere and melody and the songs are written to give you just the right amount of each before switching things up. Some post-metal can almost overstay its welcome but Station doesn't have that flaw. Everything flows with perfection! Favorite track: Verses.

scott A sonic rollercoaster; so much tension into relief, nightmares into dreams. Favorite track: Verses.

    Ryan Johanson thumbnail
Ryan Johanson I've spent the last several years quietly wondering to myself what a black metal/post-punk hybrid would sound like, or if such a thing would even make sense.

This is exactly the sound I was imagining, brought to life before my very ears. Favorite track: Sister Faith & Sister Chance.
    Phyl Lobius thumbnail
Phyl Lobius ULTHA waren ja schon immer etwas Besonderes. Favorite track: Love As We're Falling Down.
    behexed thumbnail
behexed Aus dem absoluten Nichts, ein neues Ultha album?! Warum nicht? ;)
Weißes Vinyl bestellt, kann es kaum erwarten. All hail Ultha! Favorite track: Her Still Singing Limbs.

daffyrwt I don't know what I was thinking 16 years ago when I took this album (and Easter) off my iTunes a few months later after putting them on. This album is by far imo their best album in their (sadly) small discography. Brian's bass drives this album with thunderous catchy hooks. Hard to pick a favorite track cuz I can easily pick four of them but Woolen Heirs sets the tone out the gate and gets me excited for what's to come. Favorite track: Woolen Heirs.
    The Eye Is You thumbnail
The Eye Is You This album still rules. Always unique and clever without being pretentious. With a great balance of punishment and beauty nobody sounds like These Arms Are Snakes. Fanfuckingtastic band.
    M thumbnail
M God-tier post punk, Brian Cook and his bass could level a city with a big enough amp Favorite track: Ethric Double.

Jeffrey Bridgman It took a few listens, but this is now one of my top Envy albums. I actually like that it's a bit on the short side.

Aside from Imagination and Creation, I really love Beyond the Raindrops. It just hits you with a wall of warm sunlight. Pure magic <3

The contrast between Lingering Light / Lingering Echoes is also super well done and the transition between them is one of my favorite moments from the album. Favorite track: Imagination and Creation.

    J. Wright Reviews thumbnail
    J. Wright Reviews I knew Envy could produce some emotional and beautiful walls of sound but didn't realize they could get quite as massive as they did on this album. Clocking in at nearly an hour long, almost every track has this immense feeling that overwhelms in a positive way, tugging at the heartstrings through the sheer scale of the sounds. The two 10+ minute tracks also add an element of prog to the mix that serves as the turning point of the entire album. An atmospheric opus of tier-one genius! Favorite track: A warm room - Remastered.
    volvotruckin thumbnail
volvotruckin One of my everlasting favorite albums. This is colossal music.
