    VAST DEFERENS thumbnail
VAST DEFERENS Khold's guitar tone curses like the swarthiest sailor--a true tooth-bearing nihilism pervades these monolithic tracks to Hell. Favorite track: Dystopi.

fyeahmetal Less truly is more with Khold. The songs seem deceptively simple, but everything fits together so tightly and powerfully. Each time I listen, I have a different favorite song, which is a good sign. This album is sort of a culmination of the Hellhammer family tree, where the basic midtempo ground warfare template gets refined and strengthened over time, until what was once primitive is now an impenetrable juggernaut. Favorite track: Skarpretter.

pepp14 The whole album is great! Dreamer Deceiver is my favorite track because of the build up of emotion of the song and how beautiful the voice of Rob Halford is on it and the instrumentation is so good. The Guitar solo by Glenn Tipton is one of the best I have ever heard the phrasing of the solo and you can feel every note being played hooks you right in. I dont know what makes me feel this track so much but this is one of the best tracks Judas Priest has ever released. Favorite track: Dreamer Deceiver.

EmpyreanRose Yeah, the album is kickass, well except for Prelude and Epitaph. Just ignore those songs, and the album is kickass. Favorite track: Genocide.

Steve Rodger Classic Priest !! Not just in my top three Judas Priest albums but also one of the greatest British metal albums ever released...

Favorite track: Twist in my Sobriety (Bonus Track).
    PKMetal thumbnail
PKMetal The album I've waited 15 years for! After two very good initial releases that didn't quite live up to Tristania, Sirenia changed direction in 2007 to put out their best album, 9 Destinies. (Feel free to disagree and be wrong!) Now, after a long stretch where IMO not much distinguished Sirenia from other overproduced Epica-style bands, it's finally 2007 again. Morten is at his best when he scales back the pomp to write ultra-catchy yet still heavy ABBA-infused anthems. More like this!
    H.L. thumbnail
H.L. "1977" features female fronted symphonic metal as you would expect it from SIRENIA. Maybe less bombastic as in the past, but the catchy core is the same. "The Setting Darkness", "Wintry Heart" and most of the other tracks are actually pop songs in a metallic disguise. Favorite track: The Setting Darkness.
