    Eekhoorntjesbrood thumbnail
Eekhoorntjesbrood Members of the visionary Amun return with a slightly(!) less ambitious experimental black metal album. Still inspired and haunting. Lush, yet abrasive. Music of the near-future. Favorite track: The Altar.
    Jono Schneider thumbnail
Jono Schneider Incredibly wide ranging black metal full of raging energy Favorite track: Sun And Stone.
    meows4life666 thumbnail
meows4life666 The wait after that amazing song from the split with Sadness has been so incredibly worth it. This is a phenomenal work of art, I highly recommens Favorite track: Nine Lights.
    Luke thumbnail
Luke It takes a serious band to take on a split with Sadness and hold their own. It was immediately obvious that Vulning were that band. This debut is far beyond what most bands could hope for after years of refinement. Simply, this is a new touchstone in the world of progressive black metal. They kind of thing they'll queue at Roadburn for a special complete performance of one day. A serious achievement. Chapeau.

malcolm matt’s sweet whispered lyrics and the peaks and valleys of these songs make for such a blissed out, floating listening experience. just gorgeous. Favorite track: Losing Memories.
    heylisten thumbnail
heylisten Effortlessly grand; loud as a whimper.

A very complete set of sparse, yet delicately put together melodies that are simply a pleasure to listen to on repeat.
Lyrics reflect on crippling self-doubt, forgoing life and the things that slip through the cracks of our psyche. A foreboding yet comforting tone looms from the opening track.

Though consistently stripped down, it succeeds for that very reason. This is music for zoning out into the ether, a stone cold classic in my book. Favorite track: What's Missing.

    Izzy thumbnail
Izzy coming into a new era with some heavy hitters. absolutely amazing and going into a new direction with the music, highly recommend Favorite track: Hot! Heat! Wow! Hot!.
    omereiss thumbnail
omereiss Their best one yet no doubt Favorite track: Pillhouse (Papa Moonshine).
    Stu thumbnail
Stu Fronzoli feels like a complete left turn in the their discography, and I absolutely love it! For the first time we see the band mess around with time and displacing beats, specifically on the opener. The old audio samples are a neat touch as well; it kinda plays into the album cover a bit. The heavy songs really carry this album, which in all honesty is the sound everyone prefers in their PPC, but 'Carpe Diem, Moonman' proves that they can write excellent ballads. Favorite track: Nootmare (K.I.L.L.I.N.G) Meow!.
