    by Wailin Storms

    wulfmusik thumbnail
wulfmusik Talented and powerful! Storms' first album picked up where Samhain left off, but with a tighter band and better studio quality - yet, established their own identity, which they have built since. Their EPs are short, but there is zero fat. Every track is a building wave of murderous energy that explodes into a crescendo of howling doom --or is a melancholy trance. Their lyrics are as dark as it gets, yet, surprisingly for a "horror punk" band, often empathetic, and always deep. Brilliant album! Favorite track: Teeth.
    heavydoom118 thumbnail
heavydoom118 Wailin Storms’ latest is a return to their sound from One Foot in the Flesh Grave, but tighter and more focused. The tracks are emotional, raw, and heavy. Rattle was a close second for favorite track. Favorite track: Wish.
    maxlikesound thumbnail
maxlikesound "The band’s rustic, cavernous tumult merits comparisons to everyone from 16 Horsepower and Swans to Type O Negative and Christian Death—tied together by dissonant heaviness and emotive storytelling... The cacophonous procession lingers in the air like a mist—a harbinger for a grim specter."

MyNameIsRedundant A prog/alt rock record with a sense of nostalgia
It meshes some pretty fun and relatively simple affects of older rock with a fresh sense of prog with more complex sound design.
The nostalgia factor is of the charts in the vocals, which are already super unique and standout, thanks to the echo effect layered over them.
Similarly, the guitar tone is stripped back for what is expected of modern prog but matches perfectly with the vocals thanks to the less obvious echo that also sits on the guitars Favorite track: Lowly Argonaut.
    Metal4Life thumbnail
Metal4Life I was looking for something new and accidentally came across this band. love the vocals.
    Shane Semler thumbnail
Shane Semler Everyone seems to be be focused on Four Stroke Baron's new stuff but this first album is as good as anything they've done. Lots of people like to say what FSB sound like so I might as well too - they remind me of Helmet. It sounds like there's a lot of 90s alt-metal influence here, which I think is awesome! Also, it's pay what you want. Buy it! Favorite track: Vacant Planet.

    MediZen thumbnail
MediZen With this 1ºLP, Subtype Zero jumps in to the ship of 'new wave of Thrash' ready to surff with great riffs and solos that will make you remind some of the most prominent old school metal bands; sometimes closer to Hardcore but not close enough to keep balance during this trip to The Astral Awakening.

If you like: Power Trip, Slayer, The Conjuring, Ifreann, etc. Favorite track: Shrouded Mestasis.
    Nicholas Underhay thumbnail
Nicholas Underhay These guys and power trip are really keeping that 80s thrash thing going in a really impressive way. If you are already missing Slayer, don't. Get this! Favorite track: Unprecedented Salvation.
    Old Man Doom thumbnail
Old Man Doom Excellent old school thrash taking me back to the golden days.
