I am a first-generation Mexican American running for Lieutenant Governor to disrupt the status quo and put the American dream back within reach. Born in Los Angeles and raised in East Side San Jose, my political awakening in 2016 drove me to trade a future in tech for a fight on the frontlines of government. I am tired of establishment politicians who collect paychecks while working families scrape by. I am running to fundamentally redefine the office of Lieutenant Governor—refusing to be a ceremonial "side piece"—and demand real, constitutional power to fight for everyday Californians. Visit my website to find out more about me @jeysonlopez4ca.com.
1. Stand strong for mixed-status families of California. Keep families together and invest in their growth within the United States.
2. Introduce to the State Congress the addition of the Department of Industrial Relations into the Lieutenant Governor's constitutional state-wide responsibilities.
-> Strong policy to expand and protect workforce labor law enforcement.
-> Labor violation investigation and solution within a 30-business-day turnaround period. Active human resources collaboration is needed, or fines will be added to the negligent party.
-> Address and crack down on internal corporation pay discrepancies within the same role category.
-> Introduce Corporate Tax Incentives to bring down million-dollar contribution bonuses to their workforce, not only their executives.
3. Re-Introduce the 2-year bachelor's degree by removing the initial 2-year general education requirements.
-> Propose the transition of community colleges into pure trade school teaching and certifications under the approved proposal of the 2-year bachelor's degree.
-> We need Californians to be educated a lot smarter and a lot quicker in order to set students up for success. Less college debt and faster turnaround on their investment.
