My only warning is that it is long (19 mins!) and I got drawn in and lost track of time, so if you don't have about 20 mins to sit mesmerized, come back to it when you do! =) Be sure to check the quality before you start, if you want the best view it can be in HD!
First off, I'll say i have no problem with barrel racing. I've been around barrel horses most of my life and they can be amazing. I just wish more people rode WITH their horses instead of kicking and whipping them through the pattern.
I know this girl. She used to come out at the barn I worked at. She is/could be a great rider and has natural ability but she is very hard with her horses Her and another girl I know got into an argument on FB last night about her treatment of her animals. She is young and has great potential and it annoys me that she won't take even slight critique on her horsemanship. I also noticed while going through her pictures to get these that her form has gotten worse. She started off sitting with her horses and riding well to popping out of the saddle to kick and whip.
So I'm taking a equine reproduction class and was looking for some estrus stuff on youtube to help study when I came this video. Holy crazy stud! I'm surprised nobody has gotten killed yet. Only using a nylon halter on him when he sure does need more than that. All sorts of stuff in the yard for the horses to crash into, like the lamp post right next to them, water fountain and swing set. The entire family has to watch the action along with all the barking dogs adding to the chaos. Girl, that helmet is not going to protect your face from that stallions hoof flying at you like that. Nobody seems phased by any of it either. If you don't want to watch a breeding video, don't click.
I'm sure the traveller community has some brilliant horse handlers/riders among them. These people do not qualify. Particular lowlights after 4 mins, and the kids at 5.43.
According to the description on the video, these are all unhandled Arabians whose elderly owner turned them over to a rescue. This guy apparently claimed he was some amazing "Horse Whisperer"...obviously not. It also said that the horse was taken to the ground several times. The person explaining all this said she spoke up about it not being right, got criticized for doing so, and the rescue will not be calling her again for help.
