I am thankful for many things in my life. Many of these things being people, and I hope that they all know that I'm thankful for them.

-Family: my sister for encouraging me in whatever I do and for sharing her music collection with me; 
my brother for loving me despite how nasty I can be to him; 
my dad for bankrolling my education and for having faith in me that I can achieve whatever I want; 
my mom for giving me the space I need to be an individual and an adult; 
Grandma for loving me the most.

-My friends (way too many, so I'm going to touch on a few):
LeeAnn for being with me, unwaivering for 14 odd years despite how hard i can be to get along with;
Kari for never being too quick to judge (among other things);
Brandon for loving me despite what a pain in the ass I can be, and for all the laughs;
Laura for being a cousin and friend in many, many respects;
Koep for being Koep;
Maja for broadening my horizons when I needed it, and keeping me grounded when I needed it even more;
Phillip for doing the best he can with me, letting me share his family, and for being the only man I know I can rely on and, in turn, care for despite our differences; and
Brett for giving me a reason to love my life and my friends.

for this, you are all my wonderwalls.

I love all my friends, don't get me wrong, I just don't have enough time in all the world to let you all know

-The USA for opportunity: college (a chance to move out, move on and meet new people), technology (to be connecting to all you people), life.

okay, to clarify/explain somethings i found.
while there was some confusion from our humanities book, calling Hades (the god) Dis, instead of the Greek name Hades... it makes sense. It is a Roman variation of the name Pluto... sort of. well, as we know the 5th circle of hell in Dante's Inferno is Dis. (which was actually the point first point of confusion). The 5th level also happens to be where the river styx runs through. Dis is the leven for wrathful, violent, and angry sinners.
well then, you ask, is Hades called Dis?... well, actually i don't know besides the correlation between the 5th level essentially being Hades as presented in Greek Mythology.
and for a random connection. it's similar to the way many people have the euphemism for hell being Hades. so, maybe it's the same kind of deal?

and for a random fact: one of my sister's nicknames was the Queen of Dis.

goodbye economy. i will miss your tantalizing bananas for 49 cents a pound (or 99 cents for organic). you've been good to me.... hell, to a lot of people. hopefully you'll make this a good, long, drawn-out goodbye so we all can savor the last moments we'll have living in free luxury and taking things like cheap clothing, power, food, ect. for granted. i'll miss you dearly when i drop out of college because no one in my family will be able to afford it. oh well. see you around, economy. don't forget us!

hmm, sorry about that whole bit. i think i may be a little early, but it's what i fear and it's taking ahold of me.

we all felt bad for the tsunami victims. some of us were touched by the stories of sudanese refugees. everyone in america jumped on the boat for the victims of the 9/11 attacks. surely we'll do the same again. how far are we willing to go?

yep. school starts tomorrow and it has me thinking even further to the future. what comes after high school? more school. i really like learning, so it's not a problem for me... it's just deciding where to go... hmm, where to go??

well, the bonfire was a mild success. i reached my quota. i had hoped to get 8 people total and there was! yay! i'm a pathetic loser. well, there was numbers 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 & 14 if you count laura's family and ron and nick showing up randomly as well. it was nice of people to show up. kim came at like 11 something because she had just gotten off of work. her, alicia and lydia just left like 20 minutes ago. leeann's spending the night as usual. but i think there were 8 people here. lydia, alicia, phil, brandon, leeann, kim, kari, & laura. brett didn't want to come. poopy.
i also found out not to have a fire with wet/damp wood. oops. i thought it would be dry enough, but noooo, it wasnt'.

well, i have a computer now. it's my brother's, but i get to use it for the school year until i get my own computer. i now have internet, and to me, i think that's a bad thing. that means i'll be more dependent on people than i was this summer. damn.
