hello
In this post I will try and be nice, concise and funny.
Steph is telling me I need to write in this journal more i.e. at least more than never, so this is me, hello! By now I'm sure you've seen the scannertime picture, so it's quite obvious that we will be parents to a lovely boy or girl, hotdog or cheeseburger. It's quite daunting, but I'm not too worried about the baby. I'm more concerned about getting the house in order, getting work in to pay for most things and making sure thegirl(TM) is happy.
Of course I'm dead excited about being a father. When going to the scan for the first time, seeing junior clapping and kicking was amazing. Also, seeing Steph jiggle like a belly dancer (that lesson came in handy didn't it love!) was quite funny.
Something that comes up a lot is "so, are you getting married?", or "how is your wife?" Let me explain. Steph and I love each other very much and we'll be together for as long as we both shall live (see what I'm doing there?). It's hard to remember the very conversation, but we decided that things are going great, and we would have a baby eventually, so why not now? We're a pretty settled couple, don't feel like we have to go around the world or the ultimate thing - wait. Some of our family have said "I wish you had waited a year or 2", or "at least until you were married" etc. We're going to have a baby, we're moving in to a new house - that's enough for the moment. We'll get married one day and el kiddo can be ring bearer!
Saying that though, most people couldn't be happier for us. I can't wait to be a father!
