Hello ladies!
I have been lurking here for a while now and enjoy reading everyone's post. It's very reasuring to know that there are people going through the same things I am since this is my first baby and I hav'nt really known anyone who's been pregnant before. Everything has been very new to me. Anyways, here is my introduction:
Name: Joi Marie
Age: 20
Due Date: June 8th
Baby's Gender: Having a boy!
Baby's name: Jayden Nicholas Degrave
I'm currently at 32 weeks and 2 days. This baby is coming soon and I can't wait!

Feeling Crappy!
I haven't posted in here in a long time but I took an LJ break so that's pretty much why. For those that don't remember me, my name is Diana. I'm 23, have been married to my husband Nick for 3 years. We have a son named Hunter who just turned 4 today and we have an angel in heaven named David. We lost David at 19 weeks 3 days due to what was diagnosed as incompetent cervix. I am currently 28 weeks 4 days pregnant and have no cerclage (stitch to keep the cervix shut). I am on modified bedrest and will be until I deliver. We're hoping to get to at least May 15 which is full term.
These last couple days I have felt terrible. I've actually been sort of worried that I was in pre-term labor. I've had a ton of extra pressure, I've been super sore and I've been constipated. I was really close to going to L&D but I drank tons of prune juice (puke) and took some Colace last night and feel much better this morning. I really didn't think being constipated could make me feel that terribly. I'm still not feeling real good so I'm wondering if I might have some sort of stomach virus. I'm still sore but that's mainly because of having to lay down all day long.
As for the soreness, just wondering if anyone else has felt like this. The only way to describe it is that I feel like I just got off a horse. I'm sore down between my legs, almost like muscle stretching or bruising. My Peri said it could just be the fact that I'm carrying the baby extremely low (she dropped at 22 weeks and is head down right on my cervix) and she's gaining weight so it's adding more pressure to everything down there. I just can't believe I have another possible 11 weeks of this!!
Well, here's some belly pics from 28 weeks!! I'll try to get around here more often!

I'm curious
Before start paining the nursery this weekend (in girl-y lavendar), do any of you know someone who was assuredly told by their ultrasound tech (via regular or 3D)of the gender and then...ooops baby came & was the opposite gender?
I don't know of anyone personally who has had it happen when they found gender in advance. I heard about someone from DH when my DD was born 3 1/2 years ago. But, 3D ultrasounds weren't a regular thing then. And, I am guessing in the cases when it does happen, the ultrasound tech couldn't confidently state gender or only speculated and the parents went with it. In both my pregnancies, the tech provided pretty definitive ultrasound photos.
Anyone know of anyone who had a surprise and the details of their story?

Braxton Hicks
I have been feeling a lot of Braxton hicks contractions lately. I have said this many a time to many people but I will say it to you too: The person who said that Braxton Hick contractions are simply painless practice labour had to be a guy or a woman who never had kids. Admittedly I didn't have a lot of Braxton Hicks with my son Jonathan and they were not particularly memorable but with this little angel - ouch and again I say ouch! These are the sort of contractions that make you want to double over in pain and take a few sharp breaths. And I am only 24 weeks (tomorrow). That means I get the joy of another 13-16 weeks of these wonderful things before I get to have them all in a row and over and done with until the next child. Sometimes I wish I was a man!!! :)

child birth....
hi everyone - I live in Australia and was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of a good book based only on labour - I'm trying to gain knowledge on how to have a natural labour. I was trying to get a book on the bradley method - only we dont have it in Australia and to order it from the US is going to take 10 weeks - a little long I thought.
Any help would be fantastic!
Thanks

It's a GIRL!
I had my "big ultrasound" yesterday. Little babe at 10 oz is doing well, I'm told. Actually measuring at 19w 2d on 19 weeks to the day yesterday. I love when they go around and identify parts at different angles and such...it's like interpreting another language. Some of it I "get" (spine, heart, arms, legs, foot, etc.) but some was just Greek to DH & I. But, still fun. 3D ultrasound is some pretty amazing technology.
My DH thought it was a girl. I had a dream that I actually saw a baby boy in utero. Alas, DH was right...we're having a little girl! We are very excited and DH came up with what may be the perfect name when we were alone in the ultrasound room. Once we decide for sure, I will definitely announce! :)
So, my little three year old will have a baby sister, just like she "requested" when we started talking about the baby. My two girls. :) I can't help but think back to how glad I was when my own sister was born in my family with three brothers.
I haven't scanned the US photos yet but will try to do so this weekend.
I already bought her a new dress over lunch. I'm glad she'll have plenty of wardrobe supplements, however...there were times when I went a little overboard with my first girl.
Now, if I could just get over this lingering cold/sinus thingy, life would be grand.
