I am offering a $50 dollar reward to a female crossplayer dressed up as Gai or Lee that can handstand walk the full length of the convention floor. I am offering a $100 dollar reward to a male cosplayer dressed up as Gai or Lee that can handstand walk the full length of the convention floor. (Not that I'm sexist or anything, it's just physically, most girls are lighter than guys.)
Rules: You must walk the full length of the convention floor without falling off. And preferably, we'll do this by either clearing the area for you, or performing a time when the convention hall is mostly empty. You must have your costume complete and accurate (with the exception of the weights, which can be fake). You must LOOK the part of Gai or Lee. You must post a 4 minute video of yourself to YouTube demostrating your skillz and upper body strength handstand walking around your home, or some other place (preferably not in costume).

The Naruto gathering was more or less a success. It was organized, but it was still chaos... So, if you have any ideas to make the gathering better, reply to this post

Okay... an idea came to me while I was picnicing on Sunday.
This is still an idea, and still under consideration. It has not been finalized yet.
Update 6/19/2005: It's not likely this event will be held, since it would be required to be sanctioned with the convention first.
----
Original idea: (background information only at this point)
I'd like to offer up to $150 to any Lee or Gai cosplayer who can hand stand walk the entire Anaheim convention center up 3 floors and down three floors with 10 pound ankle weights on each ankle without falling once. (Sponsors are very welcomed.)
To explain and elaborate further, the person would start at the left end of the convention hall and hand stand walk to the right end of the convention hall on the first floor. He or she then must either use the escalator or the stairs while in hand-stand position to the second floor. The elevator is not permitted to be used. For safety reasons, 4 people will help to escort the person up the stairs or the escalator. Should the convention people not permit this act, then the elevator can be used to take to the second floor. If the person fails at the end of the hall on the first floor or fails to make it to the second floor, they receive $25 dollars. Anyone who makes it half of the hall will receive $10 dollars.
The person will proceed to the other end of the hall on the second floor, receiving another $25 dollars for their efforts. Then they will proceed to the third floor and attempt to reach the other end of the hall, claiming another $25 dollars. After that, they will return back to the second floor. They will receive $25 dollars for reaching the other end of the second floor. And finally, they will receive another $25 dollars for crossing the first floor again.
An additional $25 dollar bonus is to anyone who braves it with the ankle weights and makes it considerably far or all the way.
The Lee or Gai that can accomplish the most will get the money. Secondary prizes will be awarded if there is any money left of the $150 dollars.
So, if "Lee A" happens to complete the entire course hand stand walking without the weights, "Gai A" happens to complete the entire course hand stand walking with the weights, and "Lee B" happens to complete only the first floor... "Gai A" will be rewarded $150 dollars and "Lee A" and "Lee B" will get, unfortunately, nothing.
If "Lee A" happens to complete half of the first floor and "Gai A" completes the second floor, and no one else does it... "Lee A" would receive the $10 dollars and additional $25 if "Lee A" attempted with the weights. "Gai A" would receive $50 dollars and additional $25 dollars if "Gai A" attempted with the weights. The total award given is $110 out the maximum reward money, $150.
Further consideration for bonus points may be given if they take the staircase... but I haven't decided that yet.

Modified idea:
Okay, considering the safety issues, I am going to modify the idea.
I will offer still, a total of 150 dollars. However, this time, I will split it. A maximum of $75 dollars will be given to a Lee cosplayer who does this correctly, and a maximum of $75 dollars will be given to a Gai cosplayer who does this correctly.
They will be given $50 dollars if they can make a complete lap hand stand walking on the first floor of the convention center. They will be rewarded a percentage of the reward for how much of the lap they complete. An additional $25 dollars is still rewarded if they attempt it with the ankle weights. A total of 3 attempts can be made, and they can decide to use the ankle weights or not. (Meaning they can do it once with the ankle weights and fail, but try without and attempt to succeed). In any case, whatever "best" attempt they make is their reward.
In order to provide the maximum safety for the person who is doing this, several Naruto cosplayers will be surrounding the person who attempts this in order to clear a pathway.

Well, I'd like to get your response on my modified suggestion first, but the last and final option is likely the safest. Here's the last and final option: This is, to hold a hand stand contest. The longest person who can hand stand will get $75, second place gets $50, and third place will get $25. This is without the weights, and the weights will play no factor in this contest.
